Hey no one appreciates the children when they have to put up with their parents nakhras! 😆 There are lots of children who put their life on hold to the demands of the parents...so let's not just think kids do all the nakhras! 😉

i think there is a healthy balance between a spoilt child and someone completely without any support system. i am in college, but still live with my parents because its convenient and it would be silly to move a few kms away when i have a house pretty close to where i study. "kicking people out of the house" isn't the only way to teach them self-dependence. at the same time i am responsible for every thing i do and did an internship to earn money over the summer which i use for my expenses.

its not an either-or situation.

I think its all parents staying up until the kids get home. First i hated it like my mom would take my hand crossing the street, i would let go saying im not a kid! Now shes trying to learn texting cuz i stop answering her calls lol. But i dont mind anymore i use to, now i find it sweet. i actually get mad when she doesnt care

exactly Geet... that's why i said, that's the beauty of our culture...
people i mentioned are mostly from western background... it's a shame... no wonder the drop out rate is so high here... because most of them need to start paying rent or start to take care of themselves at such a young age, when they have barely finished high school or start college... shame, really...!
and you're right... kicking out kids is not the only way to teach discipline... i lived with my parents all my life but i learned being independant long time back, about time i was in high school... it's funny actually, people think living alone is the only way to be independant... 😊

Your right Sanam.
Staying alone does not necessarily mean that one gets independent.Even being with your parents one can be independent and can be sensible enough to take their own decisions.
It all depends on the upbringing and the individual himself.
