i think there is a healthy balance between a spoilt child and someone completely without any support system. i am in college, but still live with my parents because its convenient and it would be silly to move a few kms away when i have a house pretty close to where i study. "kicking people out of the house" isn't the only way to teach them self-dependence. at the same time i am responsible for every thing i do and did an internship to earn money over the summer which i use for my expenses.
its not an either-or situation.
exactly Geet... that's why i said, that's the beauty of our culture...
people i mentioned are mostly from western background... it's a shame... no wonder the drop out rate is so high here... because most of them need to start paying rent or start to take care of themselves at such a young age, when they have barely finished high school or start college... shame, really...!
and you're right... kicking out kids is not the only way to teach discipline... i lived with my parents all my life but i learned being independant long time back, about time i was in high school... it's funny actually, people think living alone is the only way to be independant... 😊
