^^interesting discussions on fasting. fasting in Hinduism is pretty complicated. it is never mandatory but there are many occasions where certain people choose to fast and there are many different types of fasts. it all depends on family tradition and stuff. Karva chauth is always shown in bollywood but not everyone celebrates it, my family doesn't. We do celebrate teej though.
And fasting in Hinduism is not always giving up all food an water, although that is one type and some people choose to do that. The only type of fast I have ever done is where you can still eat but you have to give up certain foods. I do that during janmashtmi and navratri every year. I actually don't mind it at all since I can still have paneer.😳
But basically I think in all religions fasting has the same purpose, which is to be able to control your mind and senses and be able to sacrifice.
Now since this is a musical topic I guess I can post a song with karva chauth in the video😆
