Kalpana Lazmi has been making films for long and they are known for their artistic value. She ropes in the best possible and most suitable cast in her movies. In her forthcoming movies, she has signed Sushmita Sen in her next 'Chingari' in the lead role. Similarly, Lazmi has sounded Aishwarya Rai for her 'Singhasan'. Though she has begun shooting of 'Chingari' and is more than satisfied with Sushmita's intense interest in it, her would-be project 'Singhasan' starring Aish is likely to take some more time to commence as Lazmi hasn't yet found a producer for it. But she would definitely do it as she is a woman filmmaker of determination. Lazmi is lucky to get good support from his friend and India's top musician Bhupen Hazarika.
However, she is disappointed this time, as Bhupen couldn't provide music to 'Chingari' as promised by him. Lazmi is happy that Aadesh Srivastava has lent his music at her very short request. Ironically, the movie's story is based on a true incident witnessed by Bhupen Hazarika. But, Lazmi has changed the story to make it acceptable to the Hindi audience. Lazmi says that she has changed its title from 'Postman To Prostitute' to reach it beyond metros. According to her, the story revolves around three characters. Sushmita plays Basanti who falls for a postman but finds it impossible to marry with him. Then, she revolts against the society and thus gives place to a Chingari (spark), as the title shows. As usual, a village priest played by Mithun Chakravarty abuses his powers and suddenly starts falls for Basanti. Thus, young Anuj Sawhney falls a prey to Mithun's lust for Basanti
