But i think its more becoz the new generation doesn't take the pallu ..again pointed above by Charu very well.....Even our parents took it and my mom and mom in law still do it...but my FIL himself asked me when i got married not to cover the head and it is the same with many girls here in North India.....
So why i want her not to take Pallu is just for the reason that waqt ke saath chalna chaiye...but if a girl likes to do it then its her choice...
And in this case since its a soap ...she looks good without pallu so thats why too..
Dadaji might not like it...but Dadaji is good...upar se sakht hai for traditions....but he allowed Naitik to go for interview...he allowed Akshara to give exams.....so might allow her that too...you never know...

You are right.. I think Daddaji's nature is just like coconut, hard outside but soft inside. Everyone is afraid of him. But he can be made to understand, he is not a bad person at heart. I dont think any person in Akshara's sasural is bad, except that mamaji who is a bit weird. Gayatri is worried that noone points fingers at her bahu, Daddaji is worried about his family reputation, but everyone at the end cares for Akshara.

1. Once you show respect and be obedient and malleablefor some days, you can never imagine how much you get in return from your in-laws. After some days, these same people will be so flexible.
2. If putting Pallu makes older people happy, why cant someone forget ego for sometime and put pallu and slowly try to make them realise that she might be a college-goer and pallu does not suit her.
3. Its not daddaji and all in the family are evil persons, with a little patience and perseverence, Akshara's good nature will win all your hearts in no time.
4. A bahu is said to be the one who binds the family together, a little bit of sacifice can bring loads of happiness and will help her to win the love and respect of her own husband. Its not easy to win a husband by always arguing and objecting to his parents...

There are in-laws, I undersatnd, who are not malleable, but I feel many people are atill good in this world and they can be won over if you let lose a little of your ego. </FONT>

wow ! you've said it so beautifully ! this again is one of the secrets of happy married life..for initial days, the bahu has to bend and after she's made her place in the family, she will definetly have her say...tht's what my mom told me tht "tumhe unka banna padega, uske baad woh tumhare bangenge..you have to go by their choices and after sometime, you can dictate your choices and they will happily agree" ..it's a gradual process and it needs a lot of patience, adjustment, tact and intelligence...

a husband would always love her wife adjusting to these small things bec. he wud never want a conflict..he becomes sandwich b/w his parents and his wife...If Akshara had taken Gayitri's words to her heart and crib about it, naitik wouldn't have liked it....yes, he will stand by her everytime but his family will not like it if he favors akshara all the time..the foremost thing which a husband expects from his wife is that she respects his family and their wishes..

Till now, Naitik supported Akshara against his relatives..which was easy....but he can't talk tht way to his mom, bhabhi ma or Daddaji...It'll be tooo difficult for him to go against his own family....

oh ya
due to her pallu, akshi is looking aged
it will be naitik who will get akshi's pallu off after a lot of resentment from the family

i agree with u dear..with time and as new generations comes, these things slowly vanish...it's a matter of one's thinking..my MIL says tht i don't want to restrict you from doing anything bec. i don't want all tht to happen to u what happened to me...she loves it when i wear westerns....but yes, if there was an elderly person in the family then he wud have more expectations bec. they have led their life tht way and they want the new gen. to follow the same..it's difficult to change the thinking of elders...extremely difficult...vaise aajkal ke bache hardly care..they are "programmed" to do everything according to "their" wish 😆
