not really...i wish it was just like hollywood movies...some songs are too borng yet we have to see them in movies!

Nope they r not necessary, but bollywood is known for its songs !!

ut they a gr8 source of entertainment

well, it can go two ways... songs are not necessary in a movie... but that is what make bollywood movies so much fun to watch... also, it depends on the movie...

and if you're like me, a romantic buff, you'd not appreciate a movie without songs either... lol, so for me, some movies you do need songs, because they make the movie so much more better...

and some movies do not really need songs, so for those, probably not so much...

let's take the example of the upcoming movie, kaminey... the whole song Dhan Te Nan, sets the whole mood of the movie and even works as a theme and important part of the movie... so if you take that song out, the movie probably won't be the same...

and i love songs, so i can't imagine hindi movies without songs...! 😃

if i don't feel like watching a movie without songs, i can always watch an english movie too, right... there should be some difference between hollywood and bollywood, otherwise, there would be no uniqueness left...!

I think some songs do justice to the story, some don't. I'm not a song-hater nor a die hard song lover, I can be happy with either or neither of them 😆 . Only thing with not having any song is that it cuts the movie length and makes it around a couple hrs.

I believe they are necessary it is what makes Bollywood movies unique.

There are some movies like Black that are great without songs but overall most movies should have them.

I think people are done wid songs in movies! It seems very forced and boring. My suggestion is for Music industry to be separate from movie industry.. like in west.. I know India has music industry outside bolly.. but it is still not as big.. so take the dancing out of bolly.. so that actors get a chance to act..lolz.. and singing and dancing can be done pop singers.. and others! Thats how music industry would gain a footing in India.. playback singers wont hide behind shadows of movie actors and would have their own independet career and would gain more popularity and money... We have such great musicians in India who dont even own their own cateloges and music.. which is bad.. therefore this might change this.
