There's a lot of speculation on who is Taru's child. I just want to clarify relationship NO-NO in Gujaratis.

1. Santo cannot be Taru's child -- in Gujaratis, marrying a mama is an absolute no-no.

2. Khemi can only be Taru's child if Hiten is not DM's son -- If Hit-Mi relationship is to be cleared one or the other cannot be part of the family as first cousin marriages are a no-no in Gujaratis

3. Hiten can be Taru's child as Khemi would be marrying her sister's nanand's son which I believe is "ok" marriage in Gujaratis. (correct me if I am wrong on this one)

4. Any of the other children (Maulik, Kaduu, Birwa, Mongi) can be Taru's child -- but this is introducing a new track and not solving the Hit-Mi issue. Highly possible. Although, if it is Kaduu, it solves the very minor issue of Shashank having been in love with his saas!

I am sure I am missing other options/possibilities. Feel free to add.

If Khemi is adopted by Kanji, can the marriage happen according to the Gujju custom? After all the adoption would make her a part of Kanji's family and not Nanaji's family. So I guess Santo and Khemi will no longer be sisters according to the society (even if they are blood related), isn't it?

An interesting twist it would make for sure. All the hoopla against Hiten and Khemi's wedding is just because of an unrecognized, unrespected relation between Santu and DM. So if Khemi gets adopted then the so called "Mausi-Bhanja" relationship would not hold between Khemi and Hiten.
