"Tony Sir ke khane pe especially dhyan dena. Oily khana to bilul nahi unke blood cholestrol level abhi abhi right level pe aae he" said Bani instructing Tony as she was leaving for chandigarh with masi in two days.

After nearly living for two months with her nephew Jai Walia masi was going back to her hometown Chandigarh and this time she wanted to take Jai and her daughter in law Bani as well but since Jai had some urgent business to attend he couldn't come.

Slowly Bani made her way to their closet and opened revealing Jai's shirt and her saris hanging close to each other. She slowly caressed his shirt on her cheek forgetting that their butler was still on the room and remembering his bitter true words,

"Bani masi chahti he ke es bar hum dono unke saath chandigarh jaye. Mera yaha par kuch business ka kaam he utna important to nehi he phir bhi me masi ko bahana banake sirf tume hi unke saath bhejdunga. I think I have wasted ur a lot of time already aur es bar masi sayad wapas nehi aaengi unhe waha par kuch jaroori kaam to me soch raha tha ke tum waha se jane ke baad apne liye ek nayi zindagi suru karo. Maine divorce paper finalise karne ke liye mere lawyer ko keh diya he two three days me wo bhi hojangi. I wish ki tum ye sab ko ek bura sapna samajh kar sab kuch bhul jao aur fresh start karo."

"Tony unke sirf white shirt hi es cupboard me rakhna aur baki suits ke saath dusre wale me. Wo to nehi karenge lekin tum khud unke kapde dhone me rakhna, unhe bilkul parwah nahin he. Aur ha Tony unke medicines time me dena mat bhulna. Who bahana banate he'" her voice cracked as the days spend with him flashed in front of her eyes. Someone cleared his throat, which made Bani turn around to find his husband standing near the door and Tony standing next to her. Jai had been standing their for quite sometime listening to her but since he was getting late for office he had to interrupt them. As Bani turned suddenly Jai could see her eyes that were shining of her tears. She looked at him as if capturing all the essence of him and pleading him to understand her heart desires. Then she turned around again to compose herself and smiled at him with those dimples on her cheeks.

"kuch chahiye tha Mr. Walia?"

"Ha wo mera file chut gaya tha esiliye" saying that Jai went around Bani to garb his file and went back with a small nod as a goodbye.

Masi was doing her last minute packing when someone knocked on the door. She turned to find Jai standing their with smile on his face but sadness on his eyes.

"Are munna ajha, tujhe kab se knock karne ki jaroorat padgayi"

"Aap ka sab pacing ho gae masi?" asked Jai looking at the suitcases scattered in her room.

"Ha beta sirf ek do cheese baki. Kya baat he beta kuck kaam tha"

"Ha masi abhi abhi office se call aya tha waha bulaya he. Main aap ko station tak drop kar nahi paunga" said jai with his head down.

"Are tyo kya huwa me thode na sada ke ja rahi hoo phir aajaungi" said masi stroking his head."

"jana jaroori he kya masi"

"are beta kuto janta he kitna kaam he waha pe. Next summer me guarantee aaungi"

"use liye to abhi bahut time baki he" said Jai not being convinced one bit but knowing that he cant do any thing.

"Kya baat he munna edhar dekh mujhe. Me har saal sirf esi samay aati hu pehle to tu esa karta nahi tha ab ya huwa." Said masi looking at his eyes.

"kuch nahi masi der horahi he me ja rahu" saying that he bent to touch her feet and going when suddenly she asked "are ha munna Bani ko thik se bye karna mat bhulna jab se jane ki baat chali he gum sum si hogae he. Tujhe 6odne ko jee nahi he bichari ka"

Bani's name made him stop in his track "me baat karlunga masi" saying that he made his way out of her room but unlike his words neither he went to office nor he went to speak to Bani rather he went to his study and locked himself inside. He slowly began to sip his drink. As the time of her leaving is coming nearer his restlessness is increasing. He does not like the emotions whatever he is feeling at the moment. Every time Bani's sad face is coming in front of his eyes but he is trying to convince himself saying that it's for the betterment of Bani, that it is just the attachment of few days, which she will easily, forget one day. She is sad cos she is leaving all the family members.

One by one Bani hugged everyone from dadi to Aditya to sahil. Everyone knew what does Bani departure meant that she will never come back, may be they will never see her again. Even Jigyasa had her eyes moist.

"Aditya uncle aap unka dhyan rakhenge na aur dadi raat ke 12 baje ke baad no TV. Doctor ne insomnia ke medicines diye he na aap nahi khati mujhe pata he taki aap raat bhar TV dekh pae. Maine tony ko kaha aap pe nazar rakhne ki liye. Aur Anu sahil tum log ab jhagda kam karo." Rano kept her hands on her shoulder, as her voice got heavy.

"Didi time ho rahe." Rano said slowly, Bani nodded when Jigyasa came in front of her and hugged her. Just by their hug they asked and forgave each other.

Just before getting inside the car she turned and looked up at her room when exactly at that moment Jai hide back the curtains, who had been watching them secretly for the whole time.

As the car drove away he closed the curtain completely darkness engulfing the room and sat on the chair closing his eyes and praying that as he woke up everything will be same as it was before those three sisters had come to their life.

Bani was sitting on the rear seat of the car and looking out of the window remembering the moment spent with Jai. Tears were incontrollable which she was trying from masi as she won't be understand why her daughter in law was crying in such a way. Rano slowly wrapped her hands around her shoulder and made Bani put her head on her shoulder.

"Didi station aagaya thiya" rano shook her sister who slept crying all the way. Slowly she opened her eyes her heavy with constant crying. Aditya and driver were putting their luggage properly inside the train.

Aditya bid his goodbye to everyone and hugged Bani tightly, "Wo aaega, jaroor aaega" Bani looked at him surprised as how he know what she is feeling and he smiled telling her he knows about her and about his friend's feeling as well. The loud whistle of train indicated that it's time and slowly the train started to move. Bani waved at him smiling after long time and hope in her eyes.

Hey Pooja I just loved the SS just the way you described Bani and Jai feeling for one another. It was really touching I just hope Jai get a wake up call and goes and get Bani back. 😉😉😉

After few Days,

It has nearly been 10 days since Bani has left for Chandigarh. Masi nearly call them everyday though Jai doesn't speak to her, through others he came to know Bani and Rano are still there. Now a days during breakfast his family only talk about them which infuriating him to no end but he doesn't want to say anything to them as now only after long time his family has started to open up to him, another gift of Bani. "Bani" he sighed, nearly every second of day, he is missing her. From morning shower to lunch, from dinner to his sleep wear he is missing her but he as been convincing himself that since for last four months they have been practically spending every moment with each other that's why he is missing her. He was so used to her that he can't do anything except his office work himself and now he has doubt on that as well and this need is frustrating him to no end. Jai Walia is never dependent on anyone and will never be, this is his thought about himself.

"Tony! Tony!" Jai screamed on top of his voice. Wrapped on a towel, water dripping from his hair, like past days, Jai has been searching for his trouser to match with his shirt, which he wanted to wear today. Previously Bani used to take out all his set of clothes that after coming from shower he only need to put them on and now even though Bani has arranged the closet in the most simplest way, he can't find any bloody thing. Tony came running hearing his master loud voice and said in small voice, "Yes sir?"

"Tony find me a trouser to match this shirt" ordered Jai pointing to the cream colour shirt lying carelessly on his bed.

He was putting on his shirt, when he found one of the buttons on his shirt missing. Cursing under his breath he said, "Tony wo chhodo aur sew this button for me"

"umm… sorry sir but I don't know how to…" he left the sentence half said.

"Ramu bolao ya phir kisi aur ko. Kisi na kiki ko ata hoga" he said glaring at Tony.

"Wo sir Ramu niche breakfast tayar kar raha he aur Ghanshyam bazaar gaya he"

Jai felt as if it was the worst day of his life. He was already getting late for office and now he has to search whole set of clothes again.

"Get lost from here then go" shouted Jai.

He closed his eyes to control his but earlier days floated in front of his eyes.

"I hate you do you understand me I hate you" screamed Jai to no one on the room but particularly someone and threw the shirt on the floor.

"Ha masi hum sab theek hain. Bani ne kaha tha na esiliye Ma ka raat bhar TV dekhna bhi lag bhag kum hogaya he. Are Jai bhi aagaya ye lijiye usi se baat kijiye" said Aditya handling the phone to Jai who was coming down to have his breakfast.

"Hello Masi, pranam."

"Jeete raho beta. Kya munna kaha tha jab bhi phone karti hoon tu ghar me nahi rehta. Kaam kam kar aur apni sehat ke bare me bhi soch. Biwi nahi he to kuch bhi karega kya. Biwi se yaad aaya ruk abhi Bani ko bulati hoon" before Jai could say anything Masi ran away to call Bani.

After sometime Jai sensed someone on the other line of phone and it was definitely Bani. No one said anything, as they didn't have anything to talk or had many things to say each other but didn't know how. After few minutes Jai found Bani disconnecting the phone but he was sure he heard something before it was hung up but can't say exactly what it was.

Jai slowly made his way toward breakfast table where everyone was having their food as usual speaking or screaming at each other no one can differentiate.

"Kya Tony ye kya he maine to poha kaha tha breakfas ke liye" complained Anu looking at paratha laid in front of her.

"Sorry mam wo aaj Ramu, the cook, ko uthne me deri bo gae aur me bhi cleaning ke chhakar me use uthana bhul gaya" said tony.

"kyun eas to pehle bhi to ho ta thana?" asked Anu

"Ha mam lein us waqt Bani mam hoti thi aur wo breakfast banane me help karti thi"

"wese use gaye to sirf dus dun huwe lekin esa lagta he barso beet gaye uske haath ke khana khae huwe, use dekhe huwe"

This time Jai had enough as he himself was suffering because of her absence and here his family member saying it aloud rose is temper "Kya koi yaha breakfast ek din bhi santi ke saath nahi kha sakta kya?" roared Jai. Everyone shut their mouth and started eating. Jai too started eating but cos of his mood the food tasted bitterer that he couldn't eat anymore.

"Aditya me bahar gadi main intazaar kar raha hoon jaldi karo." Saying he stood from breakfast table and headed out of the house.

"Sir Mehta companies e representatives aa chuke he, wo log conference room me wait kar rahe he, meeting five muntes me suru hojaegi" informed Maria, Jai's PA for last ten years.

"Maria Aditya kaho se aaj wo meeting attend karle mera tabiyat kuch theek nahi he"

"Par sir aap hi ne to kaha ye meeting aap personally handle karege"

"Maria why don't you do as I say instead of telling me what should I do and not" barked Jai scaring her who apologised for her behaviour and ran to inform Aditya.

After one hour Aditya finishing his meeting knocked on Jai's room. Come in came a reply. He pushed the door to find Jai sitting on his chair closing his eyes.

"Ye kya he Jai?" asked Aditya.

"kya kya he?" asked Jai in return obviously not interested on the coming discussion.

"Ye dus din me tumne chatwue (sixth) baar meeting cancel ke he aur es baar inti important"

"Mera tabiyat thik nahi he, sar me dard he"

"tabiyat theek to pehle bhi nahi hote the, sar me dard pehle bhi hote the lein u never missed any meeting unless its important"

He didn't have answer to this. After some minute,

"Bani ko miss kar rahe ho?" asked Aditya slowly.

"Nahi" came Jai's loud and cut reply and glared at Aditya as if indicating him that he didn't want to discuss anything regarding Bani but Aditya was no less.

"aur kitne bhagoge, kitne apne aap se mana karoge ki Bani ki yaad nahi aarahi he, e wo tumhari biwi nahi he"

"She is no longer my wife, never was and never will be." Said Jai in slow voice controlling his anger.

"To phir ye chat patahat kyu, ye tadap keu" He counter attacked. He slowly leaned back on his chair and small smile playing on his lips said, " After all lion fell in love with lamb, huh?" (sorry, couldn't resist)

Jai came back home to find everyone gone to sleep. Tony went into the kitchen to heat the food but as Jai was in no mood to eat he stopped him. Slowly climbing up the stairs he went to his room and closed the room. Slowly her fragrance is also fading away from the room. No more chiming sound of her anklet and neither her small melodious voice to greet him goodnight before sleeping. Slowly he opened the cupboard and took out his night suit.

"Mr. Walia wo black wala pehniya wo blue wala ganda ho gaya tha, maine dhone me rakhdiya" said Bani looking at Jai searching his blue night suit.

"Bani wo mera favourite he"

"Ha lekin dhona bhi to parta he kabhi kabhi"

He kept the blue night suit on loundry basket and put on black one.

He was going to the bed when suddenly he hit his feet on the bed.

"Ouch"

"kya huwa Mr. Walia?"

"Kuch nahin pau bed par lagaya."

"Kya mr. Walia, kitni baar kaha ke pehle bed lamp on kijiye aur phir main light off karna, lekin aap sunte kaha he"

"Wo do baar aana jana karna padta he"

"Aap so jaeye aaj se main light off karungi"

Jai remembered her words rubbing his toes as if soothing his pain as well as the one of his heart. Slowly he slipped under the blanket and faced toward her side. When Bani was sleeping with him he never slept facing her as it was awkward and after she went he couldn't. He slowly caressed her side trying to feel her. After sometime as sleep didn't come he rolled and slept on her side and on her pillow.

"Are munna tu aagaya, kyu Bani ke bina raha nahin gaya kya?"

He smiled and touched her feet.

"Sada suhi rahe" she blessed.

"Bani kaha he masi?"

"wo Rano ke saath bahar gaye he. Tu kitne dino ke liye rahega?"

"Kal subah hi jana padega masi, kaam ka pressure bahut he, Bani ke lene aaya tha, use kaha tha" as if understanding her unspoken word that day before cutting the phone.

Bani and Rano stopped on the door seeing Jai inside. They heard everything they said. Bani held on the doorframe, as she couldn't support herself. She leaned on it closing her eyes letting the tears to fall, tears of happiness, tears of relief. Rano eyes welled up looking at her sister.

"Hey, Mr. Walia"

"Ye deho ye bhi apni didi ki tara Mr. Walia bulati he tujhe, tere behen ka pati he, jeeju bol." Said Masi showing her displeasure.

"ha Rano jeeju bulao acha lagta he" said Jai with a smile but his eyes were searching were Bani. Rano knowing this turn and didn't find Bani there.

"Sayad didi bahar talab ke kinare chali gae"

Bani was standing near the lake and throwing pebbles disrupting her image formed on the water. Slowly another figure was seen next to her. She tried throwing another stone but a hand caught her before she could ruin the beautiful image formed. He didn't leave her and she didn't fought for it.

"Man nahi lagta tumhare bager." Complained Jai in hoarse voice. "Chalogi na mere saath?"

"Kaha?"

"Ghar, hamare ghar"

"Kitne dino ke liye?"

The word pierced in his heart but he know he deserves that.

"Hamesha ke liye. Chalogi na?" he asked again. This time Bani looked at him her cheeks wet with her tears but she moved her head sidewise. He held her face between his palms making her look at him. The tears on his eyes were about to fall.

"I can't leave without you. Marjaunga lekin tumhe bina le yaha se nahin jauga. Bahut pyaar karta hu tumse aur ye bhi janta hu ki tum bhi mujhse utna hi pyaar karti ho" saying that he crushed her in his chest, his arms tight around her. She started crying loud this time. He slowly pulled her away and kissed her quivering lips.
