Luck Opens Very Well At Single Screens Lower At Multiplexes

Friday 24th July 2009 14.00 IST

Luck has opened strongly all over India at single screens but multiplexes have not shown the same response. The opening for the first shows was at 80% plus for single screens while multiplexes were around the 50% mark. Some stations in UP, Bihar and Rajasthan where action fares perform better opened to full houses.

The multiplex opening of 50% is okay but it will have to improve throughout the day if the film is to score at multiplexes and emerge a good winner at the box office.

Luck grossed a decent US $80,000 in Middle East on its first day yesterday.

B.O. update: 'Luck' opens very well at single screens, multiplexes are average

- By Taran Adarsh, July 24, 2009 - 17:33 IST

The action-thriller LUCK fetched a very good start at single screens of most circuits. The 12 noon shows in U.P., Punjab, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Nizam were in the 70% - 80% range. But the 3 p.m. shows were almost houseful everywhere. The opening at multiplexes, however, was around 40%. Mumbai was affected due to the high tide scare on Friday.

Meanwhile, the film collected an impressive 2.8 lakh Dirhams on its opening day in UAE.

The film has been released on 976 prints in India [343 physical prints and 633 digital prints] in 1,150 screens. In Overseas, it has been released n 134 prints on 150 screens. The worldwide print count is 1,110 in 1,300 screens.
