The overfriendly neighbour is up to her tricks again. She says while you are all getting ready for the wedding, how will you tell Sameer's parents about Antara? Okay even if you don't tell them about her lineage, how will you tell them that she is mad? If I had a hammer I'd bring it straight down on her head for calling my angel "mad". Sameer's father calls up Adit as he is about to pick up our cutie pie. The father is quite excited and tells Adit that the menu should be good. He further says that he's going to call many relatives and 'bandobast' for their stay should be made by Adit. Ugh!! What a greedy pop you have, Sameer??.. and he's not even subtle. Poor Adit. Ladkiwala hai so he keeps quiet. Antara has finished for the day and her father gently takes her hand and tells Vikram that he would bring her tomorrow in the afternoon. Just as they leave, there is a call on Vikram's cell. Its Vidya. She wants to meet him and tells him not to say anything to Adit about it. Vikram's face is truly mystified and wonders why this couple is keeping secrets from each other.
1. Neighbours should keep their mouths shut and not pry or meddle.
2. Sameer must put his foot down and stop his father from making demands.
Question:
Vikram is rightly wondering what's cooking between A and V. He is getting more and more puzzled. What shock is in store for him?
Adit returns home and asks for Vidya. His sister tells him she's gone out. Adit says he'll change Antara's clothes and return to the office. Arti fumes. Vidya is at the coffee shop lost in her thoughts when Vikram arrives. He asks her the reason for calling him here. She fibs and says that a teacher in her school who is pregnant, had a lot of misgivings about autism. She wanted to know if her diet could cause autism in her unborn child. Vikram allays her fears and says they are old wives tales. Vidya says that was all she wanted to say to him. He covers her hand with his and asks why she went through all the trouble of meeting him and requesting him to keep it from Adit. He knows there is more to it than meets the eye. She tries to get up but he makes her sit down. Who's is Antara? he asks. Hesitantly she replies, she is Adit illegitimate daughter.
Distasteful:
1. Calling Angel illegitimate. Vidya could have just called Angel Adit's daughter.
2. Teachers are not such nincompoops that they don't know a diet of the pregnant mother has nothing to do with the child being born autistic.
Vikram regrets asking Vidya anything. Meanwhile at home, Arti is vacuum cleaning. She shows Billo and Abhi, how the machine sucks up waste. Her cell rings and she goes to answer it. The two boys begin to play with the cleaner. Abhi picks up the brush and Billo the pipe and make believe they are gunfighters. Poor Antara enters and sits on the sofa. The boys look at her malevolently. They instantly begin to rag her. She starts screaming in fright. Finally, she pushes them away and goes to the other room where Arti is talking. The boys know they are wrong and hurriedly put the cleaner away. Arti tries to quieten Antara but its pointless. Now the friendly neighbour enters and views the scene. She tells Arti that she knows a 'tantric' who knew how to cure madness. Vidya returns to a quiet house. She asks the boys who are playing carom where Arti was and Billo tells her that she has gone with his mother to a tantric with Antara to make her 'dimag' okay. Vidya is shocked.
Heartbreaking situation:
Poor angel was surrounded by enemies from all sides. They were not short of being as cruel as terrorists.
Even though Antara calms down, those idiotic women still take her. At the tantric's house, the two stupid women are sitting and waiting for Antara's session to end. It was shocking that they have left a child alone with an unknown man. Are they dimwits? No sane person would her child with an unknown 'baba'. Meanwhile Vidya has rung up Adit and told him about Angel. He is shocked and frantic. He tries to get in touch with his sister but Mrs Gupta stops her from answering. Sameer comes to him and asks what the matter is. Adit leaves the office and rings up Arti again. So does Sameer but to no avail. At last, Arti picks up the phone and Adit pleads with her to get Antara out of the room. He says he begs her on bended knees to save his daughter.
Conclusion: I find Arti intensely revolting even more so than the overfriendly neighour. My heart shrivelled in misery just thinking about the trauma those uneducated women have put Angel through. And Adit. His very own have turned against him. Poor guy!
