Excerpts from the Interview: How was last year for you career wise? To be true the year didn't start of well with 'Jurm' drowning. Things looked better with 'Kaal' and after that with 'No Entry' and 'Dosti' I was back in good spirits. So it was a mix of all. I hope things will run good this year with 'Zinda' being my first release of the year. Tell us more about Zinda. The film is the story about Balajeet Roy (Sanjay Dutt) and his wife (Celina Jaitley). His happy life gets sealed when he is sent to doom for the next 14 years without his understanding. In a small and dark room, he turns from the human being to an animal. He learns about his wife's death and seeks revenge from the people who have brought upon the curse on him. Sanjay Gupta's films are always male centered. Why did you choose to work in this revenge film? It's not that only Sanjay Gupta's films are male centered. Most of the films that are made in Bollywood are made male oriented. An actress doesn't have much choice other than to work in such films. Only in your whole career span you come across one or two female oriented film. I'm on the look out for such films that will help me to the work as an actress and also present me in good light. What is the kind of character you play in the film? It's hard to imagine the gorgeous Lara without any make up. (Laughs) But we'll have to bear with it! I'm playing a taxi driver in the film, Jenny a simple girl in the city Bangkok. This is for the first time that I'm doing a non-glamorous role without any make-up. According to the demand of the script I had to work on a makeup less look.
Thanks for the compliment. It is for the single role that I loaded myself with make up because Sanjay Gupta wanted me to appear loud. The Zinda remix track is only for the promotion of the film and it is not placed in the film. We turned the ordinary sets to glass palace and the song came off well. David Dhawan's 'Partner' is also an important film for you. How is the shooting going? It is a laugh riot and I'm enjoying it, as much I've liked doing 'No Entry'. I'm paired opposite Salman in the film. I'm enjoying working in the film. I enjoy doing comedy and love watching comedy film. In my future too I would like to do more comedy film. |
