its a custom.............in hindus.....where the lady keeps fast for the whole day n in the night when moon comes........she breaks her fast in hands of her lover/husband................its done for gud life of the husband.lover by the girl/wife

i have seen in gud no. of shows, but being south indian, n there is no such custom there
