Excerpts from the Interview: Being invited to perform at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) Plenary Session is an honor in itself. I'm very glad to be able to get such an opportunity. I've never done something such before and indeed it will be very new experience for me. I say so because this event will be very different from giving any other ordinary performance. So have you made any special preparation for the show? I look forward to give my best to the event. It would be quite a challenging thing to do such an event for the first time. But I'm ready for the take. Can you highlight about the performance some more? I've composed a special song for the session. This will be the main track song that I'll sing. I would do the show for 45 minutes. The main song that I've composed for the event is a patriotic song but it'll be entertaining as well. I've composed the song and the lyrics are by Sameer. What do you like doing more - performing live or recording a song at the studio? I think that I give due priority to both of them. Performing live and recording at the studio are very vital in regard of ones musical career. The same is with me. I stay focused in both of them but the only the difference is that they require varied attention. When I record a song my whole concentration is on the delivery. But when I'm performing on the stage my concentration is more towards presentation. Presentation nowadays is more important than anything else. There is also some news that you're trying your hands in acting? Yes I've just completed the shooting for a Punjabi movie 'Churiyaan'. I don't have a full-length role and I'm just there for a song sequence. But I would like to prefer singing to acting and so I'm not thinking about it seriously. Are you planning any album?
What kind of tracks have you composed for the album? The songs will be very melodic in nature and will have the essence of romance in them, tuned in simple melody. I've kept the tunes simple and given more stress on the vocals and lyrics. The fusion in the music is there in abundance and will be an ear catcher. I hope listeners will enjoy the take and my music will attract them. |
