Manoj Bajpai and Ravinder Vats
Creating history on television, Ravinder Vats from Faridabad became the first man in the country to take home the biggest prize money from a game show.

The 41-year-old businessman from Haryana initially had no plans to be a part of Zee's Kam Ya Zyaada that offers a total prize money of three crores.

"My daughter Tanvi coaxed me into watching the show. She wanted me to try my luck at winning the prize money. After winning 9000 loyalty points I got a call from the show on December 13 inviting me to be a part of Kam Ya Zyaada."

Reading up

Ravinder had around 10 days time to prepare for the show that requires general knowledge and trivia. "I went to the local library and bought all the latest books on trivia and information about events and places. I would spend around 16 –18 hours daily reading and grasping as much as I could."

He adds that after deciding to be a part of the game, Ravinder wanted to leave no stone unturned. "Once I put my mind to something, I don't let anything distract me."

Spending the money

However he adds that when the final round happened; and he was declared the winner, it took quite a while for him to register the victory. "I could not believe my ears. Not even in my dreams had I imagined to win the biggest cash prize in the history of television."

So what does he plan to do with the money? "I will keep it at the feet of my Guruji and then decide upon whatever he says." Is it true that he plans to buy himself a Mercedes? "Yes I have always dreamt of owning one, and am thrilled that very soon I will get to ride my own Merc."

Another interesting aspect of Ravinder's win is his decision to distribute portion of his cash money between the other contestants who lost that night. "I felt very bad that while I hit the big jackpot, my colleagues on the show had to go back disheartened. So I have decided to give the remaining four participants 61,000 each. I want to share my joy and happiness with them."

The episode will be telecast on January 9 on Zee at 10 pm.

It's all about the money
