To 'Slumdog' kid'with love from Salman Khan
Generous soul Salman Khan could not resist giving a gift to a child star of Slumdog Millionaire when the latter appeared on his TV show.
Salman was shooting for a special child episode of his show '10 Ka Dum' with three child artists, Darsheel Safary , Tanay Chheda from Taare Zameen Par and Azhar from 'Slumdog Millionaire'. It happened that Salman came to know about Azhar's dream of having a small mobike.
According to sources, the situation turned very emotional when Azhar expressed that his dream will remain a dream as he hails from a poor family and that his parents can never afford to present him such an expensive gift. And listening to him, Salman was almost in tears and asked the crew of the show to get a bike for Azhar.
A special battery-operated bike costing around Rs. 15,000 was brought on the show's set and Salman himself gifted it to a jubilant Azhar. The actor helped the kid to ride the bike on stage.
The kid was so happy that even backstage he continued driving his bike. Azhar's full name is Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail and he played the character of young Salim in Danny Boyle's film 'Slumdog Millionaire'. He used to live in Mumbai slums and his shanty was recently demolished. Now, he's been gifted a house by the 'Slumdog' makers.
Salman started his '10 Ka Dum' 2nd season last month. Its first season was immensely popular among the masses and that's why channel people came up with the second season. Salman is undoubtedly a great host. In the coming episodes you can also see Katrina Kaif and Neil Nitin Mukesh promoting their film New York on the show.
