Mumbai: I feel concerned, deeply concerned. When I see the way we go around leading our lives without really caring for what kind of legacy we are leaving for the future generation. These are not big things but a lot of minor things.
It all begins with each of us - right from a lack of pollution control to keeping a check on the constant rise of glass buildings around us. You and I are responsible. It is totally up to each of us to save the environment and most of us are just not bothered. Why anyone else, I blame myself too. Even though we know that small things like switching off the lights and closing the water tap when not in use can make a huge difference, we continue ignoring them. If we educated people ignore the inevitable signs looming large, how do you expect others to follow them?
I wish we all get aware of the enormity of the situation, and realise that if we have to provide our children with the kind of comforts we enjoy, we need to be careful - very careful - with the way we deal with things. Let's all work towards a better world...let's stop being selfish!
