| Sanjay Dutt in Mission Ek Crore Ka | Launched with loads of hoopla and hype, SaharaOne's game show — Mission Ek Crore Ka may not be able to see a launch on the scheduled date.
Sources working on the show reveal that Sanjay Dutt's debut on television as a game show host was scheduled to happen this month, but has now been moved to March. Reasons for delay
The buzz doing the rounds is that the game show was pushed back keeping in mind rival channels (Kam ya Zyaada on Zee and Deal Ya No Deal on Sony) coming out with their game shows.
While according to another version, the show has been delayed because of the Abu Salem case opening up again and the actor being busy running to the courts. "I don't think the show will go on air so soon. Mr Dutt was supposed to allot certain dates for the show, but that hasn't happened yet.
Also the promos have already gone on air, so the audience thinks that the show is just around the corner", revealed a source working on the project.
Speaking on behalf of Sanjay Dutt, his business manager Kalim Khan said, "We haven't been approached by the channel to allot any dates. Once that happens, things can move forward." Gradual buildup
Giving the channel's perspective on the issue, Purnendu Bose, COO, SaharaOne said, "The show is definitely happening and will go on air some time by the end of March. We are having a gradual build up to it, with some more promos being shot this month. The format of the show is different from the others, it is not practically possible to rush things."
When asked if other shows from competitive channels also were factor in deciding the time of telecast, he said, "We have kept everything in mind.
The nature of the game show is unique and different from anything that is on air at the moment. It is not a knowledge-based quiz show. The idea is to have fun and focus on entertainment. We will be giving money to contestants who can entertain, rather than give correct answers." |
