It was a much-needed holiday for both of them. When Ajay Devgan and Kajol decided to embark upon their 10-day long break at their farmhouse in Karjat, they made it clear to everyone that they didn't want to be disturbed. Kunal Kohli, Prasoon Joshi
and Kajol
It's for that reason that Ajay even switched his mobile phone off — to be away from the world and just spend time with his family.
Unfortunately, the solitude they shared and enjoyed was short-lived. Ajay and Kajol's vacation came to a grinding halt when they were needed to focus their attention on work again — this time it was the shooting of a new commercial for Tata Indicom.
Karjat kyun?
Hum Tum director Kunal Kohli is making the ad. Says he, "We selected Karjat because Kajol and Ajay were already at their farmhouse there, and it was difficult for them to come down to Mumbai. Plus I was also in a holiday mood, as I was leaving the next day for Aamir's Panchgani wedding," reveals Kohli whose first ad was with Saif for Lays chips.
Suddenly shooting
Kunal Kohli with Ajay Devgan
Neither Ajay nor Kajol were completely prepared for this sudden change of events and that explains why they preferred to have the shooting in Karjat itself, where they were relaxing.
One also hears that because of the short notice, it was Kajol who recommended Kunal Kohli's name as the director — the actress is working in Kohli's new feature film Fanaah, with Aamir Khan. The movie is being produced by Yashraj Films.
In fact, Kunal got signed for the ad only a day before the actual shoot happened. The entire planning and pre-production detailing had to be completed within 24 hours. And Kohli is quite happy with what he's achieved. "It's a very funny ad, which will bring a huge smile on the face of viewers," he says.
Look kaisa hai?
Ajay plays a newsreader in the commercial while Kajol is an anchor. "For Kajol, we have a typical Catholic get-up," reveals Kohli but is unwilling to talk much about Ajay's look. "It's different but we want to keep it a secret now; else it will tantamount to giving everything away," Kohli adds.
Maza aaya
The only consolation for Ajay and Kajol was that the commercial was shot in a single day; five hours of shooting time to be precise. Kohli says he enjoyed the experience. "I'm working with Kajol for my new film Fanaah, so we share a very good rapport. As for Ajay, he is a very good human being
and a great actor; aur kya chahiye?"
