Chapter 6: *3 Years Later...*
"Mama, mama, where are you?" said a small shy voice.
A young girl looked all over her house, from the living room, to the dining room, the kitchen, the sitting room, the prayer room, and bedrooms, and the bathroom. Yet, none of her doting parents or her grandmather, was in sight. She searched every nook and crany in the house, but her efforts went in vain.
"Manali beta," said a faint voice that was none other than Urmi's,"I'm outside, in the near the pool."
Basking out in the hot sun, lay a woman with a well sculpted body. With stylish, white rimmed glasses shielding her precious eyes, a stunning orange bathing suit, and bright yellow flip flops, she didn't look at all like a mother of a 5 year old.
"Manali, where were you? I was wondering where you were." said Urmi's frantic voice.
"Mama, I came out of the bathroom, and I was looking all over for you because I wanted you to help me wash my hands." Manali's sweet and innocent voice replied.
Giving out a short chuckle, Urmi replied, "You silly girl, I told you we are outside. Come, let me help you flush the toilet.?"
"Of course I did Mama, I know I have to before I leave the bathroom.." Manali replied as she paced towards the bathroom.
As a sharp wooshing sound echoed through the house, Manali's hands were lathered in soap, and smelled devine. After rinsing and patting her hands dry, Manali marched out with her mother, to greet her father.
"Let me go chance, I'll be back soon, okay?" Urmi replied sweetly.
After a while, the sound of high heels was heard stepping down the stairs. As Manali looked from her mother's feet, to her neatly parted - sindoor filled hair, she was awestruck.
"Wow, she thought, I wish I could look as nice as that."
A honk was heard interuppting her thoughts. As the 3 ladies of the house, Urmi, Manali, and Aadesh's mother stepped outside. Shortly after, once grabbing his brief case, his wallet, and his phone, Aadesh opened the door to his car. As he stepped out of his Mercedes Benz, he cheerfully greeted his wife and daughter, who were soon joined by his mother.
"Mama," Manali said at the dinner table that night, "When will I get married?"
Urmi and Aadesh laughed loudly, and answered her saying "Beta, you will marry when you are much older... say in twently or so years."
"But I want to get married now!" Manali replied, on the verge of tears.
"You will, you will, all in good time." Aadesh's Mom answered, with a smile on her wrinkled face.
