Contrary to earlier claims of creative differences leading to his exit, a new report has surfaced, detailing the actual events that transpired between the actor and Akhtar regarding Don 3.

According to a report by Free Press Journal, Ranveer Singh, fresh off the success of his Dhurandhar franchise, desired to incorporate "strong language" into Don 3. Ranveer's reasoning was that Don should "change his DNA to match the current violent" standards, as he believes this aligns with what audiences currently appreciate.

However, Farhan Akhtar opposed the inclusion of "harsh language," pointing out that neither Amitabh Bachchan's nor Shah Rukh Khan's iterations of Don relied on abusive dialogue. A source indicated that the filmmaker was unwilling to yield to any pressure, stating, "Farhan very much wanted to make the film he originally set out to make." Ultimately, Ranveer Singh withdrew from Don 3.

Ranveer Singh exited Don 3 in 2025, with the separation becoming public following script disagreements and production delays. Earlier reports indicated that Excel Entertainment was seeking ?40 crore in compensation due to pre-production costs, scheduling shifts, and associated losses. The production house asserted that initial groundwork had been finalized with Singh's consent, and it's understood that he has agreed to reimburse a portion of this sum.

Farhan Akhtar recently shared his perspective on the situation with Hollywood Reporter India, stating, "What I have learnt is to expect the unexpected. Nothing can be taken for granted till you actually have it on film." He further commented that his film career has been an incredible journey, and he recognizes that challenging periods are unavoidable, choosing to approach them with resilience.
