Dr.Singh is a nice human being and a good ecomist. This time tehy have a clear mandate and cannot blame anyone now. I just hope the country progresses despite whichever party is at centre.
And Rahul Gandhi should prove himself first before staking claim to PM post.

At first I wanted to sit silently re, there were too many congress supporters lol but it's really frutrating that an economy that has so much potential and can do wonders, is not doing well due to a greedy, selfish and corrupt government. The growth rate of India has seen such a sharp decrease since congress came in power.
If rahul gandhi is given power, then I might as well rule the country! Anyway, let's see what 'great things' this new government will bring for us.

Clearly people don't care about terrorism, it wasn't an issue in these elections. Life is cheap in India, I guess.
The fawning over Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka is nauseating. If we had to have a royal family, we should have stuck with the British royal family, at least they've got experience. Rahul talks about his family loving the poor so much, but what did they ever do for the poor?

PRESS RELEASE
The revelation in New Indian Express, Chennai today of the false claim of Mr.Rahul Gandhi made in his sworn affidavit that he holds a M Phil in Development Economics from Trinity College, Cambridge University calls from an immediate Notice for perjury to be sent to him by the Election Commission. Otherwise, I shall move the Courts for action.
The revelation confirms the disclosure I made after a visit to the Department of Development Studies, University of Cambridge in 2005. I was informed by the Department's library and revealed in its computer, that Mr.Gandhi did not complete his M Phil degree because he had failed the National Economic Planning and Policy exam and hence could not fulfil the mandatory requirement of writing a M Phil thesis (much less defend it). Also, Trinity College does not award M Phil degrees, and Development Studies Department has nothing to do with the Economics Department.

Moreover, according to University records Mr.Gandhi as Raul Vinci had given his citizenship as 'Italian citizen by birth since born to an Italian mother", and holds an Italian passport in that name. He also paid his fees from a numbered account in a tax-haven bank.

Incidentally, Mr.Gandhi had failed the first year B.A in St.Stephen's College in Delhi because, as his sister had in Jesus and Mary College, he failed the Hindi compulsory course exam.

Rahul was awarded Cambridge M Phil degree in 1995: University

29 Apr 2009, 0211 hrs IST, PT

London:Amid a controversy over Rahul Gandhi's foreign degrees, the University of Cambridge said the Congress leader was a student of Trinity College and was awarded an M.Phil in Development Studies in 1995.

In a letter to Gandhi, Vice-Chancellor Prof Alison Richard said she regretted the recent controversy in India over his qualifications and clarified that he was a student at Trinity College from October 1994 to July 1995.

He was awarded the M.Phil in Development Studies in 1995, she said.

"It is extremely unfortunate that a controversy has arisen regarding your degree and we would like to set the controversy at rest immediately," Prof Richard wrote.

Soon after Rahul filed his affidavit from UP's Amethi constituency, a newspaper report had raised questions over his educational qualification which he had mentioned in his nomination papers.

The report also claimed that the certification from the university shows not only has he got the dates wrong he has even got the name of the course he took incorrect.

Prof Richard added that Gandhi's conduct during his time at the university was "exemplary and he remained in good standing throughout".

Rahul's father and late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, also studied at Trinity College, Cambridge.
