Highlights : The villagers warn Bhairav to not send Suguna to school
Maasa starts to show her old colors again
There is a change in the villagers' thinking
In the living room, the adults sit talking in general. Suguna and Jagya return from school. Right behind them, a group of villagers enter the haveli. They tell the family that they are here to talk to Maasa about sending Suguna to school. They tell her that they are against this decision and tell Maasa to follow rules and traditions as she used to before. Maasa tells the villagers that this was not her decision, but her son's, so they should ask Bhairav all their questions. So saying, she goes inside. The villagers then start to tell Bhairav to not send Suguna to school. Bhairav stands his ground and tells them that he will do no such thing and was ready to face any consequences for this. Suguna is happy to hear this. The villagers warn the family that they will not support the family or help them in anyway henceforth and leave. Suguna gets a little scared hearing this. Bhairav hugs her to console her.
Sumitra remembers how happy Suguna was after she resumed studying and how she had promised Suguna to do anything to help her study. She goes inside to Maasa's room and finds Maasa grumbling about the happenings downstairs. She asks Maasa why she abandoned her family when they needed her support. Maasa tells her that she has no right to question her. Besides she did not want to condone Bhairav's actions since she was not ready to break the rules and traditions of society. Sumitra tells her that she has never broken any rules since she has entered the house. She begs Maasa to spare her daughter of all this. Sumitra turns around to see Badi maasi listening to their conversation. She leaves silently. Daadisa tells Badi maasi that her bheendni's had started to open their mouth. She implies this is because of Badi maasi.
In the village, Durga's mother collects some money. Durga's father tells her to not go against the village and send Durga to school, but the woman is not ready saying she now realises that studying would ensure a good future for her daughter. She makes her husband realise that their current situation will not help their daughter in any way. Durga tells her father that she really would like to study. Her father seems a little convinced.
At the haveli, during dinner, everyone eats silently. Maasa starts to talk sarcastically to Suguna about how she will study so much that she will become a collector. Bhairav gets irritated by all this talk and leaves without finishing his dinner. Badi maasi tries to lighten the mood, but Maasa is in no mood to listen. She tells her that being soft on the bheendni's is making them arrogant and disrespectful. Sumitra looks on....
Precap : Suguna, Jagya and Phooli are on their way to school. Lata and Durga's mothers come to Suguna and request her to take their daughters to school with her. Suguna is very happy...
