hi guys,
I would really like everyone's help. I am doing my final paper in one of my writing classes for college on bollywood (you had to do it on the movie industry, i asked permission from my prof to do it on bollywood instead of some aspect of hollywood). I'm trying to answer whether the stuff shown in bollywood movies creates or reflects the attitudes of indian society. I picked the role of women. It would be awesome and would help me a great deal to know what you guys think and what your views are. It would just take a couple of minutes to answer these questions.
In general, do you feel that bollywood movies model society and show the views of society; or does bollywood play a role in creating change in society? So, is bollywood the leader or the follower? Does it create new views or does it just portray the societal views?
According to you, how has the role of women changed in bollywood, both on screen and off? Do women seem to have a different role and importance in movies now than they did earlier? Is this change good or bad?
How has the role of women in indian society changed? And how does this change differ/conform to how women are portrayed in bollywood movies?
And the next questions are more for a statistical analysis:
What country do you live in and were you born there or somewhere else? If born somewhere else, how long have you lived in your present country?
If, you don't feel comfortable answering the statistical questions in the topic, you can PM me. And you don't necessarily have to answer them but it would be helpful if you did. Thanx a lot for helping me out guys. This paper is worth almost half of my grade in that class.
