Terrence getting on nerves and getting isolated

Terrence has been everyone's favourite including mine. But, now he seems to be getting on my nerves. It is getting clear that he is getting isolated and not enjoying it any more. He is taking his critical comments too far now! His comments on Mayuresh's performance today really pissed me off. While Remo was praising his contestant like Price to sky high and hyping him Terrence was finding fault with Mayuresh. I do not blame Mithun for not giving him grand salute as it would be difficult to justify it when the own mentor is finding silly faults. Terrence's comments were not seeked for Prince's performance.
Also noticed that when others are cheering and clapping Terrence looks down in his notepad with no expression. He is not with the others and in his own thoughts. While he may be right it is also important to go with the flow. It seems people on the show have slowly started disliking him even his own contestants. They no more praise Terrence a lot and seem to have that close relationship. I think all this is effecting his contestants and they are getting less votes. Last week all bottom 3 were from his group. This week 2 out of 3. This despite having best performers like Jai, Mayuresh and Alisha.
Even his generousity of donating eyes did not fetch water as Mithun said that he has already done so. Well, again I think Terrence is getting isolated and seems to be like an odd man out now. He better get with the flow and start support his contestants. Gaining good will is as important as being critical.
Are you listining Terrence?

Agreed, it's obvious. He could just do that when alone and not on national TV. These comments are not getting his contestants good votes.

Well, I think Terrence giving positive and negative comments to all the contestants including his own is something I always appreciate. Actually a true mentor should always be able to give right amount of criticism to his pupil.
But , I also understand where you are coming from. Just because other mentors like Remo and Geeta doesn't like to give any negative comments to their pupil, it doesn't mean much to me.
( Me as a viewer like when Terrence talks about the right technique of dance and the mistakes these contestants have made )
Today if he told Jai, that he has missed a chunk of choreography, then I agree with him. It didn't look like a complete dance to me and Honestly as I was watching the dance, even I felt there should have been something more to add to that ooomph! factor.
The criticism he gave to Sunita was very apt too. God know I should be the last one to advice somebody to lose weigt, but that girl being a dancer should definitly lose some weight, She has no flexibilty and no co-ordination in her body.
So again , I have gone tangent in my thoughts here, My main point was that Constructive criticism should always be given to the contestants, no matter how many ugly faces Grand Master makes.
Let him be in his own world.

I think Terrence is not as un-mindful of how to influence audience votes. But he has his agenda.. and i doubt he needs us viewers telling him how to play the game. As far as his comments on Mayuresh's little unfinished step goes.. i believe the point was to make it clear that the whole "inspired by Rashpal" act was not to win sympathy votes but infact the dance itself merits applause and thats what the viewers should be focusing on. I don't believe any of his contestants are less close to him because of his comments either.

you've got to understand that these talent hunt shows on tv now are all scripted. There is very little said of done that the contestants or the judges are really unaware and shocked about. Like Khusboo getting saved by veto.. i don't believe for one second that Khusboo wasn't aware of whats gonna happen. This girl who cried for her sister's elimination didn't have an iota of regret on her face when she is being told she is out. That end part was so scripted to look dramatic but poorly acted out.

anyway i am going off topic. All the contestants and judges are required to do certain amount of 'acting' in this show. And sometimes its our job to see through that. Thats why i believe that voting should be based completely on performance and not on what the contestants say or believe or what the judges say about them.
The viewers should vote for who they think can dance the best.

OH MY GOD! you have put my thoughts right into words. I agree with every SINGLE word u have said. I completely adore Terence and his toli and I do understand the need to give healthy criticism BUT I too have been feeling from the last two episodes that he too needs to get with the flow and start supporting his contestants like Remo does. I mean finding faults in Mayuresh's and Jai's performance was a COMPLETE let down for me. I was like terence u HAD to ruin it for the audience, these contestants are already putting their 100% into it, and it shows. Mayuresh's performance according to me was FLAWLESS but and didn't enjoy Salman's performance much, but look at the praise and support that Mayuresh got and what Salman got. BIG DIFFERENCE!
Criticizing contestants like Sunita and Khushboo is understandable coz they clearly need help. They both have not been up to the mark lately and could use a couple of criticism to get them work harder but with Mayuresh I thought it was absolutely unnecessary. You could've saved ur comment for the rehearsals terence, now everybody will remember Salman's performance as flawless and mayuresh's performance with faults. atleast I would, coz the comments these judges make DOES effect my evaluation a little bit. I'm a complete Jai fan and thoroughly enjoyed his performance but when Terence made that comment abt forgetting the chunk, it TOTALLY changed my evaluation of the performance. First, I was like wow, Jai is doing good, but after terence's comment, I was like, meh, he didn't do his best, he could've done better. The point is, the comments these judges give DOES affect ppl's perception and evaluation of a performance! so terence better be careful and go with the flow.
Coming to Jai's performance, the poor guy was already disappointed abt being in bottom, and I have noticed they always announce Jai's result with people who have highest or second highest votes, like today. just imagine how he must've felt and what would've gone through his mind to first hear that one of them has the highest votes, and then hearing that he's the one with low votes. moreover, you criticize his performance even further and don't even praise what was good in his performance. ATLEAST mention the good parts, like I loved how he easily rolled of the stairs, but was that noticed? did he get praised for attempting something difficult and doing it so neatly? NO!
I think Terence has a set mental model about the role of a judge, which is correct but he also needs to analyze what's going around him and if he doesn't he'll probably be the first one to get kicked out. he needs to analyze remo's and Geeta's judgement and rlly go with the flow.
I am NOT saying that he should not criticize bad performances and just keep on praising and praising even the most AVERAGE performance, absolutely not! but he needs to overlook the small negatives if the positives overpower the performance! and y doesn't he criticize other contestants' good performances enough?
wow, I just realized the length of my post but I hope u guys understand my point.

And i'd also like to mention.. that it wasn't just Terrence's comments that weren't sought for Prince's performance. For other contestants too the remaining judges didn't all comment. The reason was that a lot of screen time was given to Rashpal ji and there wasn't enuf time to have each judge comment on each performance. So please dont' take that as a reason to say Terrence is being singled out. Its not true obviously.

Personally i love to hear what Terrence has to say about each performance...more than what the others say.. i pay attention to what he says. So i'd not want him to give up on that and start the fake praising himself.

I kind of agree to you both. We all love Terence for being critical to his pupils and giving them the right advice. But, looks like it is affecting his talented contestans. But, I don't know if he can change himself just for the show.

I think his toli DESERVES all the praising that they don't get and it will definitely be hard to fake the praising for mayuresh's performance today.

Now when I read all your points, I do understand what you all are trying to say.
But I guess Dance for Terrence is not just this competition alone. Like when he was pointing out Mayuresh's fault, you could feel the passion he feels for Dance. I know how these comments can affect common mans view. But for me Mayuresh and Jai are one of the best male dancers.

I can't even imagine how Jai must have felt standing with lesser dancers like Prince and being told he is in the danger zone. I literally felt the pain inside myself and that is not at all overdramatizing it , I did flinch watching his face and that's why i voted for him even before watching his dance.
Ahhhhhhh! I hope Terrence kids are safe next week. Altho I know it is asking for too much seeing the trend of voting for the last few weeks.
