Shiv's out, Rohit's in
Despite having well known participants on the show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (Sony TV) has not been able to fetch the channel good enough ratings. So this week, the channel will surprise its viewers by bringing in Ronit Roy to replace Shiv Pandit and host with Shweta Tiwari.
A source informs us, "This season of Jhalak has very famous faces from different fields so there were high chances that the show would get great TRPs. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case."
And the apparent reason the show isn't faring well is because of its male host. The source adds, "The fact is that Shiv Pandit, who is one of the hosts on the show, hasn't been getting good responses. This is why he will be replaced by Rohit."
There have also been rumours that Shiv is now busy shooting for his South movies and that is the reason he decided to leave Jhalak. Shiv says, "I was signed for a certain number of episodes and I've completed those. I am currently working on two movies which will release this year in June. Apart from that, there is also something else that I am working on but I cannot reveal anything about it."
In the meanwhile, Rohit Roy, who hosted the last season of Jhalak with Mona Singh, is delighted to get back on the show. He says, "Well for me, more than anything, it's about coming back home! Jhalak is very close to my heart. I loved the first season of the show and fortunately, I got an opportunity to host the second season."
Rohit has already shot for one episode and he will be seen in the wildcard round this Friday. Talking about the experience, he tells us, "Jhalak is a wonderful show and being a part of it has always been a splendid experience for me. This time too, it was no different!"
It is also rumored that for the wildcard round, Mona Singh will be seen with Rohit. However, from Saturday's show, Shweta will be back again and seen hosting with the actor.
