Palm Sunday or Passion Sunday marks the beginning of the holy week which continues till Easter. It is a day when Jesus came to Jerusalem a week before his resurrection. When Jesus entered Jerusalem people greeted him with waving hands and waving palm leaves. Thus from that time onwards the Holy Day is celebrated as Palm Sunday. In modern times Palm leaves are distributed to the people in churches and people wish each other verbally.
