*Rubbing my hands in desperation, excitement, high energy and frustration* WHERE DO I START????
All of my gang members got to yap and spam abt Punji this whole week, when the show was at its peak, and there I was at mom's place, with my mom keeping me sole (but insane) company in Cafe Punjiland.. 😃
I dont know how many posts it will take me to get that Punji Drool meter come down from that boiling red, where it has been hovering, coming close to bursting, as Nups rightly says !! 😆
Let me start in chronological order:
THE AFFAIR 😆😃
Arjun goes public with the open declaration that he and Arohi are having an AFFAIR.. her jaw drops, he looks smug. From thereon, I saw a new Arjun, confident, smooth, pulling ropes of his stupid, gossip-mongering office employees and them not realising, and teasing Arohi FULL ON.
Except, the mask used to slip, his genuine tenderness and love for Arohi used to shine through like a ray of sunlight from amongst the clouds.
Arohi was uncomfortable, being pushed into the limelight, fearing for her reputation, but also struggling with her love at the same time.
So it was the irony of it all. They ARE in love, only they pretend they are not, and then they pretend in public that they ARE. Confusing, but then thats them, and damn endearing too, like a couple of children who cant stay away from each other, but cant stay with each other too..
THE SALSA-
Ok, so they dont know the Salsa, but ego is such a pain in life.. so they eat their respective parents' heads, who conveniently know it, and manage to learn the basic moves in one night.
Some people did not like the Salsa, I loved it. The reason, they were so fluid in their moves, but more importantly, the dance was just a backdrop to the more soul engrossing conversation they were having in the meanwhile. It was a powerful illustration of the kind of love these two are going to share. One's conversation totally touched and moved the other, and me too, in process. Loved the depth of emotion each is carrying inside, for the other. The dance just became an extension to that conversation, and they forgot their clumsiness in process, their bodies took over the moves naturally. Touche !!!!
LOVE HURTS-
Yet again, Arohi CANNOT tolerate any other woman's presence in Arjun's life. One small mention of someone else in Arjun's life, and she goes all jealous and possessive. To the point that she stomps into his room, taunts, probes, questions, goads Arjun ( at the same time trying dismally to act unaffected), who suprisingly, likes it all. She owns him, and he knows it. Even if both of them later try to cover up for it. He says she is not his girlfriend, which surprisingly again, hurts her.
He knows that too, so he runs across to make sure she is fine, and lets her know he likes her possessiveness. Which he too has for her in full measure, he blasts her for making a public spectacle of herself. He cannot tolerate men making snide comments about her, and physically, least of all. (Which reminds me, the buffoons that work in his office, specially those two gossip mongering rodents, eeeeks !!)
Loved Arohi's reaction to his anger, she was humiliated, but she dint lash back at him, she looked at him with teary eyes, and somewhere felt she deserved his anger, after all, he dint like her doing all this. He felt the remorse, she felt it too..each felt miserable, till they came clean with the mutual apology.
Then the fun starts again, with a small difference, NAY, a big one, he nervously asks her out. And she, in true Arohi style, grabs at the invitation.
Phewwwww !!! This was just the adrenaline speaking.. more later.. 😃
p.s. Arjun- stays top of the mind, with his patent swagger, humming and hawing, clearing of throat, and that cell phone of his, stuck on his palm with super-glue, I am yet to see him in a scene without it, and he is always shuffling it around in his hand.
Arohi- stays top of the mind for her naughtiness, her goading, hanging around Arjun, that smile, those hands, AND her volatile emotions around Arjun. But she looks best when she is hurting, and goes all subdued and quiet. Arjun CANNOT take that. SO he makes a clown of himself, till she is smiling that million watt smile again. 😃
