actually guys, amisha may not be a fantastic actress but this girl has a Gold Medal in economics and is HIGHLY HIGHLY educated. i think that she would do well in politics considering the family that she comes from...her paternal grandfather was a big time politician...and her education speaks for itself. she can bring about change in Gujarat and India.

she's also well-read, well-traveled, well-spoken...she has the entire package to become a successful politician...provided that she not get into "bad politics."

With Bollywood stars jumping the political bandwagon, it came as no surprise when a newspaper on Saturday carried a report stating that Amisha Patel will contest the Lok Sabha elections from the Rajkot seat in Gujarat, on a National Congress Party (NCP) ticket.

In the news report, Jayant Patel, the NCP chief for Gujarat is quoted as saying, "I called up Amishaji… and sought her consent (to fight elections). She agreed immediately."

However, the actress who is currently shooting at the Filmistan studio in Mumbai is aghast at the 'news report'. She denied any political aspirations vehemently and said, "No no no! I am not… I repeat I am not contesting elections."

Ask Amisha why she is shying away from politics considering her lineage and she concurs, "Yes, my grandfather was the eminent lawyer, Rajni Patel.

He was the right-hand man to the late PM Mrs Indira Gandhi. He was also the treasurer of the Congress. But I am an actor with my hands more than full with film assignments.

In fact, I am currently shooting two back-to-back projects, so where is the time for politics?"

well said, completely agree..

she is very highly educated.. and if she's not into 'bad politics', she will do well, imo... she also has the credentials... we should not overlook that..!!

I find it funny when their FAV's are into politics they seem to support each one and other.. because She's not A list superstar... that means she failed at everything..

that makes everyone a hypocrite. anyways, Amisha is smart... she should join into eco politics. if she wants to.
