it's funny about Andaz Apna Apna though.. it was out and out entertainer.. how come people didn't like it..? shocking that is..!

Andaz Apna Apna was not a flop, it did not do as well as expected since it released on the same day as DDLJ.

Another movie that was panned by the critics and written off by the industry initially but later went on to be the biggest cult films of all times and a huge hit was Sholay

really..?? i have seen it sooo many times.. more than a 100, for sure.. as a kid, i saw it 2 - 3 times at least in a week.. lol.. now, it's almost every month..! but wow.. intersting..

i think in Silsila people didn't like the fact that Amitabh was shown to have an affair with Rekha whilst he was married.......he was at the peak of his career then & people found it difficult to accept.......it was too close to the rumours that were going around.

ya these are among my favourite movies too.........seriously don't know why they didn't work at the box office.

do beegha zameen most probably a flop , guide ws also nt really successful at box-office!
almost all satyajit roy films r flop except feluda stories and goopi bagha ones.. bt all r true classics!! agantuk , sakha -proshakha , ghare-baire (considered his best work), charulata , all were box-office low movies! bt i love all of them! amazing work!!
