^^ lovanika, even if they do.. it's good that our people are getting recognition.. do we need to bash them because of our own prejudice.. i don't care whether they are experts on the field or not, i'm happy that they are getting recognition..!!
whatever Laloo's fault are, the guy has done quite a lot of good things.. we shouldn't overlook that.. 😳

I am with you on this 100%.
If someone from India is getting a recognition internationally,no matter at what level, we should appreciate. Ok if they are doing wrong like a striptease on Times' Square then we can bash them. 😃
I am happy for Abhi and I was proud for Laloo also. See he was considered intelligent enough to be called to speak. Thats a great achievement..
Lalu to share railways' 'success' with Harvard students

Thursday, 21 December , 2006, 16:55

New Delhi: After giving management tips at IIM-Ahmedabad and Bangalore, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad will share the reasons behind the turnaround of the railways with a group of students from Harvard and Wharton in the US.

"A group of 137 students -- 100 from Harvard Business School and rest from Wharton -- is coming here for a lecture by Prasad on December 27. The minister will be sharing his thoughts with these students in a day long session at Rail Bhawan," a Railway Ministry source said.

Prasad is credit with the financial engineering of the turnaround of the loss-making Indian Railways, which earned a revenue surplus of Rs 130 bn by March 31, 2006.

IIM-Ahmedabad had invited Prasad to deliver a lecture on management to the students of the premier business school.

US corporate house General Electric's chief also came to India to study the phenomenal success of the railways. Management experts from Germany, Japan and France followed him. They all wanted to know the reason behind the railways' success within a short span of 30 months.

Prasad says it was achieved by raising volume and through capacity enhancement. He once remarked that a cow would fall sick if she wasn't milked, suggesting the fuller utilisation of the railways' capacity would yield financial benefits.

What is he going to say to students from Wharton? The easiest way to succeed is to have a successful dad?

^^^^And the easiest way to Hollywood red carpet is to have a successful wife. Sorry Abhi Aish fans, couldn't resist that one.😆
And as for the Laloo comment I made, I've been out of touch with Indian politics since '03 so I have no clue about his accomplishments. He always seemed like a brazenly corrupt leader to me, (ofcourse who isn't?) which is why I made that "can he speak?" comment. So no offense.

I think Abhi is better speaker than many. So I feel he is going to do a good job. And I wish him all the best.
Well as we say when our favorite is choosen to do something "He/She was so very deserving" but when others are choosen "He/She must have striked a deal or under the table". Thats the human nature.
You can go ahead and bash Abhi here from your computers but the truth is ABHI is the one going to speak at Wharton. 😆
