Ash-Abhi's intimate scene dropped
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya at Bachchanlila Launch

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan's intimate scene in Mani Ratnam's 'Raavan' may be an added advantage of the film but the director chose to edit it as the issue is very sensitive and it may hurt the sentiment of the religious people. Mani is playing safe by dropping the love-making session of Ash who plays a married woman and Abhi a kidnapper.

'Raavan' is a modern day adaptation of the great ancient epic, 'Ramayan'. Here's showing Ash being kidnapped by Abhi and during their stay, Ash falls for Abhi. Confirming the news an insider said, "There was also a love-making scene between Ash and Abhishek in the script but Mani decided to do away with it after realising the sensitivity of the subject. Even though he may deny it, the fact remains that the film is a modern day adaptation of the epic, with the focus being on the Ravana-Sita chapter."

The shooting of the film took place in high security as the director did not want any clippings to get leaked in the public.

So is it technically like Imran Khan starrer Kidnap ?
But Mani did however take a good choice because i'm sure that when the film will release it might create controversial problems :S

this is just filled w/ controversy. like, i am totally against people trying to portray avatars of God. Not a good idea, Mr. Ratnam. Not a good idea at all. LOL the Bachchans are gonna get A LOT of flak for this movie. And I mean a lot!!! Religious groups are going to go crazy. Abhishek and Aishwarya should have thought about the so-called family prestige before accepting roles such as these.

Sita falling for Ravaan is not ramayan, I'm glad he dropped the scene b/c the audience would not respond well to it! But then again these could be rumors!

The philosophy of theism in and of itself is based on conjecture and mythology. Mythology, coming from the greek "mythos", means a story/narrative. Particular cultures believe a certain myth (story) to be true and tend to use the paranormal and supernatural to explain events that, for the most part, have a rational and logical reason. That indicates there is no definitive way of knowing whether the supernatural exists or doesn't. As such, the theory of theism is simply a hypothesis, not theory. So, if the belief of theism itself is a hypothesis, how can an alternate perception of a myth concerning the hypothesis be offensive? After all, they are both hypotheses. No one has a conclusive and absolute way of assessing which hypothesis is more accurate.
You're dead on with the other part though. They will get a lot of flak, which is rather unwarranted. I don't understand why Aishwarya and Abhishek should have thought of the "family prestige" -- is that merely because it may offend a culture? If that's the case then, movies should never be made as they will almost always offend a culture. For example, a movie in which a human consumes a burger instead of eating another human being can be percieved as offensive by someone who practices cannibalism. Simply because a movie is deemed 'offensive' by a certain culture isn't any reason to think regarding their status. If people find it offensive then, so be it. Rather than reflecting poorly on Ash/Abhi, it emphasizes on the narrow-minded thikning of those who find it offensive.
