In the eight years since Hasratein, Vyas has been consistently churning out good performances. You may have seen him in shows like Karz, Parampara, Chutki Baja Ke Basera, Apnapan. Currently, Vyas can be seen in Saarthi on Star Plus, Hare Kaanch Ki Chudiyan on Sahara and Naqab on Doordarshan. Two dailies and one weekly plus his passion, his first love - Gujarati theatre which he's been associated with for almost 18 years now. ''Work is absolutely fine. A little hectic but I am managing well. Doing good characters on television and stage. I also direct my plays. It's terrific. I am enjoying everything. This is what every actor wants. To be busy all the time with good work, '' smiles Vyas. He has just wrapped his last play Rupaya Nach Nachare and is all set with his new yet untitled one ''which will open in December in Ahmedabad. This a rocking season for Gujarati theatre,'' says he. n the tube he is the crooked Kushal mama in Saarthi, in Hare Kaanch... he is the small time business man Raghuvir Sharma, while in Naqab you see him as the very positive loyal manager Anand. ''That's why it's so exciting. All the three roles are very different. Kushal is Shakuni mama of Mahabharat - possessive and scheming. A role every actor would want to do. Raghuvir is trapped in life, he's quite cynical, no one knows how he will react. But when he knows he is stuck in a trap he fights back,'' explains Vyas. ''And in Naqab, Anand is extremely wafadar, loyal to his boss, Raju Kher, who gets killed. It's about how he takes it from there. So it's fun.
''And then of course my plays are there. So like I said enjoying myself,'' Vyas adds with satisfaction. But how does he manage both? ''I won't give up theatre, which is like my battery charging machine,'' adds Vyas.In the last one decade he's witnessed many changes, mostly, he says, for the good. Vyas feel television today is as big as the film industry. ''There is so much work. Everyone is employed. There is so much gloss, glamour and popularity. Television is in its best phase,'' he concludes
