Ajay Gehi is back
Remember Ajay Gehi? He had played Guddu in Vishal Bharadwaj's Maqbool, which won him appreciation and film offers. "Unfortunately they didn't take off and after waiting for a year I decided to do a serial Mili." He played the lead opposite Mona Basu who played the title role. He did the serial for a year but when his character was changed he quit. He was next seen in MTV's Ghoom, which was a spoof on Dhoom. That was a couple of years ago. Now the actor is all set to be seen in a comedy film Banegi Apni Baat with Raghubir Yadav. Directed by a first-timer and starring actors from FTII, the film is ready and will hit the theatres on March 27 in all probability. But what is more exciting for the actor is that he has been signed up by none other than Mani Ratnam for his tentatively titled film Raavan alongside Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Unwilling to divulge more details about the film, all Ajay's willing to say is, "I am playing Abhishek's younger brother. The role is substantial and lengthy." He speaks highly of the Bachchans who he says are "Warm and friendly. They don't behave like superstars." Ajay, who's been getting a lot of TV offers, has consciously kept away in the hope of fulfilling his dream of making it big as a film star.
