Yes. It did take place today.

Freida Pinto and the cast and crew of Slumdog Millionaire with executives of Fox Searchlight at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. They were all there to celebrate the eight Academy Awards the movie Slumdog Millionaire had won. Freida looked stunning in a Yellow gown which looks similar to the Roberto cavalli gown she was looking at on access hollywood. Also seen are Dev patel, anil kapoor, A R Rahman

Is it me or does it seem that A.R. is very possesive about his oscar award as he is not shown letting anyone else touch it.....look at danny boyle, & the producer of the film, both of them are letting everyone hold their awards, even the kids from the movie...but A.R. seems to tightly hold onto both of them, as if, someone will steal it....heheheh
