The only big reason to watch Bandini apart from 'The gr8-Ronit Roy' was the fresh approach of Balaji towards a story.I loved the initial impression given by ekta- a straight story telling with no saas bahu mellow drama and zoom shots.
But right from the entry of moti behen its giving a flash back of Kasam se-Jigyasa.But Jigyasa was much ahead .
More of a saas torturing a bahu style.Here its in the name of caste.But i feel pity that from the selection of actress to the dialogues-no classy look and feel of rich, high caste has been delivered so far.Her dialogues remind me of ladies fighting with their husbands,when they return home drunk...or a simple cat fight or gossip kaam waali on the streets.She don't even look like DM's elder sis and maalkin of that place.
But no criticism on the acting capability of the lady,she is delivering 100% of what was narrated to her.

So the show is going in to the old saas bahu fights?????

Other issues in cast:

Subadra's younger sister is looking too old
DM's father in law-don't match the whole set up

What's old about Bandini

->A rural Kasam se
->Bandini , replica of Virasat (or Orginal Kamal Hassan movie-Tevar Makan) settings and bit story line chori.
->17yr old heroin,like prachi desai
->Inspired by the rural set up of Hit show Balika Vadhu
->Very old ekta formula of 3 sisters,young girl marrying Old man , hero's cruel sister, hero's children who eventually get v.close to heroin
->A kundali match to cure all probs-like karam apna apna
->A relative turned villain
->Some where round the corner a young boy ready to hold the heroin's hand,who turns to be a best friend of hers,who again will cause some insecurity for hero
->A dear friend of the hero,whose there from start to end just to help and hear all the feelings of the outside rock and inside ice cream type hero. (like kasauti's gupta and kasam se's walia's friend)
-> Eventually lead pair fall in love and the tough hero becomes just 'Heroin ka pati'
->Copy of Kasam se- Aparajit,who took care of first love's parents after her death
->A small tadka from Kyunki....a Baa type Mother in law for DM and a try to bring back,Mihir-Baa bond.(Good one)

Whats in favor of Bandini

->Ronit Roy in lead,his different and very interesting style of acting.A change from suave business man to true villager
->Balaji trying to come out of its world of dramas for a fresh approach
->Every show has got similarities with other ones.But its how well one can show freshness in that.So far it was goo
->Touches the sympathy string coz of santo(hope not to be repetition.)
->Fresh non balaji faces.Every actor is too good and perfect in their part.
->Gr8 rural locations
->No zoom techniques and black and white shocked faces
->Perfect usage of Gujarati giving a realistic touch
->Emphasis on cast problem rather than usual money diff
->Mihir-Baa bond always loved....
->Effort is visible , so results will be positive

Don'ts for Bandini

-> Don't get in to too much of Kitchen politics and show more of different tracks of interaction between tough DM and sweet Santo utilizing rural backdrop
->Avoid unwanted Kasautii,kasam se type 3rd person entry and no plastic surgery,amnesia,alchimers,come back from death etc
->Never let DM lose power to heroin or anyone else and be a mere joru ka gulaam,coz its his supreme power that interests audience
->It should not become a majboori to watch the show, for an actor

Must for Bandini

->Utilize Ronit's acting ,charm,popularity to 100%
->Can get lil inspiration from Virasat for new tracks
->Unexpected twist and interesting change is welcome
-> Fast pace story telling
->Try some new track with DM's children rather than repetition of kasautii.

This is my opinion........what is your take on this

Keep Smiling
Khushi Arya😊

Khushi Di!! 🤗

that's one heck of a review!!
I mean tat's one un biased review...and I loved it!!
Though I don't think Moti ben is a copy of Jigyasa. Jigyaasa was younger than Jai and a bit more decent in terms of not running her guttery mouth. This Moti ben is just toooo cheap...u described her well.

Good to see u here!!

Hey Khushiiiiii.................really good to see ya here. I agree with everything about RR, absolutely correct you are. You have given a totally unbiased review and it is very good. I want a creative to read this avoid everything you mentioned as 'Don'ts' and get rid of everything old in this serial. Bandini has the potential to make it huge and I hope it does.

Nice review Khushi. Looking at it from all angles justifiable. 👏

Most of the items in the "What's old about Bandini" can be applied to any serial or part of many movies too. I mean these are basic formulas for a story line, right? Some old, some new, some life experiences, some reality, some imagination....aise hi toh story banti hai.

Introducing young lead actresses has been EKs style from what I understand. Also, many other serials introduced new young leads (Saloni, Divya/vidya and hoards of others) so not sure why only KS/Prachi is singled out.

I am sure I can find many serials/movies that have older sisters that are either nice or vamps. And yes, Motiben and Jigs are vampy types but I agree with others, Motiben is no Jigs. I mentioned somewhere before too that Jigs never had the guts to stand up to JW. She did all her plotting behind his back. Motiben is not hiding anything....aage se vaar karti hai...acting like a true big sis. Very different indeed.

Khushi, totally agree with your Don'ts and Musts for Bandini.

Hope it continues on the path that it is....I am loving it.

Welcome Khushi Di.....😃

You've written down a great review in the most simplest form. Very specific and to the point.

Agree with your favouring and must points of bandini. As far as the OLD view is concerned, i think we are all used to the fact that eveything is inspired from something old. Be it from the movies of from a past story.

The fact that new talent needs to be brought into the serials/TV material should now be limited. Lilke mombs saaid soo many young leads are there. But getting people of 18-20yr olds is getting out of hand.

All in all a comprehensive review Khushi Di!
