Exactly these are the youngsters and there quality of singing is not very low , remember Anwesha and Ashwerya from CU.I am not saying that they are doing great for themselves but again they are doing different stage shows every now and then and have huge fan bases and are loved by the people.

I don't think you have to be a playback singer to be considered successful. It's OK if they explore other opportunities like stage shows, albums, anchoring, or even acting. I consider Abhijeet Sawant very successful because he's making good money. He managed to release a second album on his own after the prize album, and now he's acting in a movie. Rahul Vaidya is also pretty successful..he's hosted 2 reality shows, released an album, won another reality show..basically he's making money. And he's only in his early 20s!

It's silly to expect them to instantly achieve the status of KK, Sonu, Shaan, Shreya and Sunidhi and if they enter the competition with that sort of mindset then they must really be expecting a miracle. With the exception of Shreya, no one I mentioned above was really an overnight star. It took Sonu a while to establish himself, and he didn't do it just by playback singing. KK has been singing for years but he just recently started getting his due (IMO hasn't fully gotten it yet).

I don't think they should stop these shows. It's good entertainment and time pass for the viewers, provides jobs for the hosts and judges and helps struggling singers in some way at least.

Monali Thakur who was 9th in the Indian Idol is doing good.

you cant say Abhijeet Sawant is not famous... all of his albums have been superhits... specially Junoon, which is an amazing album.... he is also singing for movies now.... Toshi-Sharib are geting their share now.. and Raja Hasan is soon to rule the music industry.. hes already sung many play back songs.. abhijeet sawant is also becoming a actor in lottery where he sings the songs as well... but most have failed... thats true

They wil not be popular because the judges hardly select the best in auditions . They need to remove Annu Malik first !
