Some of the things that I felt make Bidaai outstanding are;One of the very few serials which has persisited with the original storyline (That about two sisters and their personal struggles and relationships) from the very beginning till date. If you take into account any other popular soap, by any other production house, most of them have the history of completely distorting the original storyline and making a complete mishmash of it after a period of say about 6 months or so. But Bidaai has held on to its original storyline for the last one and a half year amazingly, without boring the audience and holding their interest spellbound. The story has unfurled slowly, steadily and with a lot of thought going into it.All the characters and situations are realistic to say the least. Not one character in Bidaai is completely black or white. The positive characters have their moment of weakenesses and the negative ones have their moments of redemptions. The fact that the all the actors and characters have been dealt with fairly. Once again, comparisons with other soaps are inevitable. A lot of soaps have the tendency to shift the entire focus on one or two characters once they realize that they are more popular with the viewers. But even though, initially it was Sara Khan who garnered more publicity and her paring with Angad Hasija was loved by all, Rajan Shahi gave equal if not more footage to Ragini's character and to Parul Chauhan. Today, you can say that Ragini / Ranveer are just as adored and popular as Sadhna/ Alekh. And not just them, even the peripheral characters like the Sharma's and the Rajvansh's have all been given a good role and ample screen time. The positivity in the serial. Bidaai is so unabashedly sentimental and optimistic that you just can't help fall in love with the director's utopian vision! They never stretch the negativity and sadness in the storyline, just deal with it and get over with it....the emphasis has always been on goodness and happiness...of the sunny side of things rather than the dark ones. Why should serials and movies only focus on negative things in the name of realism? Aren't happiness and positivity as much a part of our daily life as sadness? Bidaai does just that and chooses to focus on what is good about our life and our relationships rather than downsize them! The Sets, costumes and background work! I love the way Uttar Pradesh customs and traditions have been depicted in the serial right from the beginning. Be it the way Kaushiji wears her Sari, or the manner in which Naniji speaks...anyone from UP would immeidately associate with it! Rajanji obviously knows a lot about UP, because you can see that he pays a lot of attention to details and adds them to every frame of his shot. Its very rare to see so much of authenticity in a daily soap and that too in such a consistent manner. There are many more factors which make Bidaai a delight to watch, but I just listed some of my favourite ones!
