What makes Bidaai so unique?

I have been watching Bidaai for over a year now and even though I visit the forum on and off, have never posted anything regarding the soap. For the simple reason that although I loved the serial and watched it regularly, I never felt strongly about it...but after watching yesterday's episode, I was really touched! Rajan Shahi deserves all the accolades and much more in the manner that he has conceived and executed the entire story. No other soap in recent times comes near the simplicity yet depth of Bidaai.
Some of the things that I felt make Bidaai outstanding are;
One of the very few serials which has persisited with the original storyline (That about two sisters and their personal struggles and relationships) from the very beginning till date. If you take into account any other popular soap, by any other production house, most of them have the history of completely distorting the original storyline and making a complete mishmash of it after a period of say about 6 months or so. But Bidaai has held on to its original storyline for the last one and a half year amazingly, without boring the audience and holding their interest spellbound. The story has unfurled slowly, steadily and with a lot of thought going into it.
All the characters and situations are realistic to say the least. Not one character in Bidaai is completely black or white. The positive characters have their moment of weakenesses and the negative ones have their moments of redemptions.
The fact that the all the actors and characters have been dealt with fairly. Once again, comparisons with other soaps are inevitable. A lot of soaps have the tendency to shift the entire focus on one or two characters once they realize that they are more popular with the viewers. But even though, initially it was Sara Khan who garnered more publicity and her paring with Angad Hasija was loved by all, Rajan Shahi gave equal if not more footage to Ragini's character and to Parul Chauhan. Today, you can say that Ragini / Ranveer are just as adored and popular as Sadhna/ Alekh. And not just them, even the peripheral characters like the Sharma's and the Rajvansh's have all been given a good role and ample screen time.
The positivity in the serial. Bidaai is so unabashedly sentimental and optimistic that you just can't help fall in love with the director's utopian vision! They never stretch the negativity and sadness in the storyline, just deal with it and get over with it....the emphasis has always been on goodness and happiness...of the sunny side of things rather than the dark ones. Why should serials and movies only focus on negative things in the name of realism? Aren't happiness and positivity as much a part of our daily life as sadness? Bidaai does just that and chooses to focus on what is good about our life and our relationships rather than downsize them!
The Sets, costumes and background work! I love the way Uttar Pradesh customs and traditions have been depicted in the serial right from the beginning. Be it the way Kaushiji wears her Sari, or the manner in which Naniji speaks...anyone from UP would immeidately associate with it! Rajanji obviously knows a lot about UP, because you can see that he pays a lot of attention to details and adds them to every frame of his shot. Its very rare to see so much of authenticity in a daily soap and that too in such a consistent manner.
There are many more factors which make Bidaai a delight to watch, but I just listed some of my favourite ones!

fantastic post...n i agree with u totally! 👏

biddia works cuz of its simplicity...it works because human emotions r potrayed so beautifully in this serial..
i have said the same thing before that all characters in this show r equally important...ther is nothing like main lead here! i love the fact that rajan shahi doesnt show the "typical vamps" i hate it...so much negativity, saazish n all... i just hate it.. so i love the fact that there is no one completely negative here...

bidaai rocks!

Fantastic post dear👏

I agree with you completely. Simplicity is Bidaai's USP. I have watched so many shows but the way things are shown/executed in Bidaai has always surprised me. Each & every character are given equal importance. The relationships, bonding, values are portrayed so beautifully in this show. When i had heard Bidaai will become 1 hr i was like they will drag it but when the show use 2 start & when it use 2 end i didn't realize how the time passed. I was so into the show that didn't realize when the episode got over. The actors potraying the role have brought a life in the character. Everything looks so realistic.

Rajan Sahi has done a marvellous job & the team effort of the entire cast & crew is another reason behind show's success. Bidaai deserves all the fame & success it's getting. This is one of the BEST shows on Television. Thanks to Rajan Shahi for giving us such a beautiful show👏

the uniqueness lies in all said above and it's overall message...
I'd stated in a previous message what makes this show special...
the topic was, "What attracts you to Bidaai"
and I replied: Originally posted by simran777

FEELINGS...
~of every rishta is shown so sweetly and positively here...
~obstacles overcome with love and truth...
~each character gives strong & beautiful moral lessons...
SO, I think that is what attracts everyone to Bidaai as all can relate to it in some way...as something they admire/appreciate or wish for in their life...it touches everyone in special ways..
agree? :-)
To add more i'd say it tells us that there's no such thing as sadness/darkness...
example we see light and shadows, however there's no such thing as a shadow alone...it has no existance itself, for it's only temporary missing of light...Likewise, there's no such thing as sadness/pain for it's only the missing of Happiness..
As we come to realize this powerful reality...we can truly enhance and beautify our lives richly..

inshort rajanG sab ka dil rakhte hain i love both the couples alot and bidaai rocks because it doesnt have stupid aspects like

Very well said for me the cast was what got me hooked on it recently and love the couples in the show and all the characters infact..
You are right in that other shows completly go away from the concept and just concetrate on few characters ..all characters are given inportance in this show most of the time.
