Outgoing US President George Bush hands over to Barack Obama on 20 January, 2009, bringing to an end his eight-year run in the White House.

Big Question:
Will you be happy or disappointed to see George W Bush finally go. 😊 Or do you just not care? I mean all around the world we associate America with Bush and it will take some getting used to with having Obama as president.
I mean in his last week, watching the videos its nice to see his banter with the Journalists😊
Watch: (some interesting videos) maybe for Uk only not sure from BBC.

Frankly i don't care who the president of America is since I am not American. I don't like why the entire world gives so much attention to American Politics?

I don't think there will be any change coming in the U.S once Obama becomes a President, but one thing for sure is that America is on it's way down now, in few years it will no longer be the world power.

I am not American either so can see your P.O.V but world cares what America thinks as it is the Super Power. Its politics dictate what the rest of the world will do. If you don't have US support your screwed. Whoever is the President does affect the world. When America is sick the rest of the world catches colds😉
Was same for the World Wars - American joining on Allies side was another main reason why allies won - So Whoever is president indirectly affects all.
Right now it may be in decline but i honestly doubt it will no longer be the World Power. 😳

I am very much glad that finally he'll be out of the White House. Ever since his first time, I have been very tired of him. I am not a very politically active person but I hate the way people around the world are looking at Americans just because the image Mr. Bush has presented to the entire world.

I have never agree with many of his decisions and American will always regret them.

I am not a huge fan of Mr. Obama either but he has promised change and I long to see that, so all the best to him!

i agree with you Mahii Mahii!
I think Bush leaving will do good for the world.. Also Obama is more of a international person than bush, so many countries are actually looking forward to Obama.
He has a great cabinet developed, so i think he will make great changes. US politics matter alot because we impact other countries via economic policies, cultural impact and even international policies.

that's what i don't like why everyone hypes America so much, if we commoners stop thinking of the U.S as a world power i am sure the media will also stop.

"When America is sick the rest of the world catches colds" so is this a good thing or a bad thing. Why should one country suffer from what America does? If we stop regarding this notion, I am sure America will longer affect other countries.

If media keeps giving America so much importance by saying how their house market is or stocks are, or their political system then it is bound to take a toll on other countries. Indian newspapers have headlines about American economy and how it will affect India, but if we don't give so much importance to it, people wouldn't care and it wouldn't affect their lives.

I am saying all of this because i live in Canada and all i see on news is American economy. In this way there is a image or a perception created in the public's mind that america is everything and if something goes wrong there same will happen here and people stop making investments and start selling stocks enen though their might be nothing wrong in their own country.

About America being the world power, it will not be entitled to that title in next 10 or 15 years or so. There were so many world powers before U.S and they all fell one by one and so will US.

US will fall from the economic power in the next 10-15 yrs...I can never seem them falling in Military power....US is the only country with warships in every ocean, human forces in almost every country (both non military and military) etc..
All in all, the world is like dominos..if one falls they all will fall..We all depend on each other, and need to live in happiness...I agree with you, the US is not the #1, we are all the #1 because if one is hurting we will be.

I remember seeing an advert on TV where Bush says:

- "I've been in the Bible every day since I've been the president."

- "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

- "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."

And then there was a sign saying 'Laugh while you still can, this is the most powerful man in the world'.

Although I'm not American I do have some interest in who the American president is. So even though I will miss his 'Bushism' and being able to laugh at him, I am glad that he is not running the most influential country in the world.

i believe you are right believe. Many believe that he is the worst, but I beleive that there are many leaders who are far worst than him, his small mistakes caused him big a critical backlash..I believe he was the worst president, but time will tell if thats 100% true...Believe me i think Obama will be the best so far, his cabinet was widely accepted today during thier speeches about thier furture plans.
(fyi, i used believe 5 times...hehe😆)
