I came across these awards on India.com! There are some strange sategories and some strange winners! Enjoy and no way do these results reflect the real winners of '08!!!
1.
BEST ACTOR - Aamir Khan, GHAJINI
Runners Up: (in that order)
- Shahrukh Khan, RAB NE BANA DI JODI Naseeruddin Shah, A WEDNESDAY Vinay Pathak, DASVIDANIA Hritik Roshan, JODHA AKBAR
- Abhishek Bachchan, DOSTANA
NOTES: It isn't very easy to separate these five performances, for each of them brought something special to their respective films. My sympathy gives it to Aamir Khan as well as my sadistic desire to see mean-spirited carnage on screen. Whichever the case, Aamir has given his finest performance to date in Ghajini.
2.
Best Actress - Aishwarya Rai, JODHA AKBAR
Runners Up: (in that order)
- Priyanka Chopra, FASHION Genelia D'Souza, JAANE TU YA JAANE NA Asin, GHAJINI
- Chitrangada singh, SORRY BHAI
Aishwarya Rai's performance in Jodha Akbar was delightfully restrained and charming. It was hard work carrying the million tonnes of Jewelery for days on end during the shooting and yet she was gracefully poignant.
3.
Supporting Actor - Arjun Rampal, Rock On
Runners Up: (in that order)
- Paresh Rawal, MUMBAI MERI JAAN Anupam Kher, A WEDNESDAY Kay Kay Menon, SHAURYA
- John Abraham, DOSTANA
The sands of time will keep shifting but Arjun Rampal's character 'Joe Mascarenhas' will never be forgotten. No one expected him to be such a fine actor! Sure he had a decent role in 'Om shanti Om' but he simply blew us away with his performance in Rock On. Kay Kay Menon would've won this award had his character not been ripped off from 'A Few Good men'.
4.
Supporting Actress - Kirron Kher, Dostana
Runners Up: (in that order)
- Shabhana Azmi, SORRY BHAI Soha Ali Khan, MUMBAI MERI JAAN Ratna Pathak Shah, JAANE TU YA JAANE NA
- Bipasha Basu, BACHNA AE HASEENO
Kirron Kher was downright lovable as Abhishek Bachchan's melodramatic mom. The video of the 'Maa da ladla' song picturized on her was rib tickling laugh out loud fun. She easily beats the other contenders.
5.
Best Newcomer - Rajiv Khandelwal, AAMIR
Runners Up: (in that order)
- Imran Khan, JAANE TU YA JAANE NA, KIDNAP Farhan Akhtar, ROCK ON Purav Bhandare, TAHAAN
- Harman Baweja, LOVE STORY 2050
Sorry Imran Khan fans, this must be a disappointment for you. While Imran was excellent as the chocolate boy in 'Jaane tu' and pretty good in the horrendous 'Kidnap', Rajiv Khandelwal deserves this award by a long shot. His facial expressions and finer nuances in 'Aamir' were brilliant.
6.
Best Newcomer (Female) - Asin, GHAJINI
Runners Up: (in that order)
- Prachi Desai, ROCK ON Shahana Goswami, ROCK ON Anushka Sharma, RAB NE BANA DI JODI
- Manjari Phadnis, JAANE TU YA JAANE NA
Where in the world was Asin all these years?? Bollywood fans (like us) yearn for, crave for such a talented and beautiful actress! This gorgeous Kerlaite left us spellbound with her heart wrenching performance in Ghajini. If Aishwarya Rai hadn't made Jodha Akbar, Asin would've snapped the best actress trophy!
7.

The Bollywood segment of the India.com movie awards continues. First up is the Best Ensemble in a film and the cast of 'Jaane Tu' wins this one hands down!

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY - Santosh Sivan, TAHAAN
Runners Up: (in that order)
- Alphons Roy for AAMIR Kiran Deohans for JODHA AKBAR Ravi Chandran for GHAJINI Kabir Lal for YUVVRAAJ
- Amit Roy for SARKAR RAJ
We'd completely forgotten about Chitrangada Singh since 'Hazaaron khwaishen aisi' four years ago.
While 'Sorry Bhai' was a so-so movie, Chitrangada was downright excellent.
- Runner Up: Vinay Pathak, OH MY GOD
There's no way around it, this was a bad movie, and Vinay Pathak was criminally wasted in this turd fest.
Most Underrated Film of the Year
Winner: OYE LUCKY! LUCKY OYE!
This film would've been a big hit had Mumbai not been attacked by Kasab and co. Paresh Rawal was great in the double role and Abhay Deol was quite impressive in this heist flick.
- Runner Up: JUMBO
This entertaining animated kiddie movie on the other hand was swept away by the GHAJINI wave. Too bad.
14.
Most Overrated Film of the Year
Winner: RACE
The director duo of Abbas-Mastan should really be given a restraining order that puts them 10 feet away from a camera. RACE was one of the worst, most ludicrous movies of 2008 and yet managed to rake in a lot of moolah.
- Runner Up: LAST LEAR
I sum up LAST LEAR in just one word, 'blah'.
15.
Most Surprising Film of the Year
Winner: AAMIR
No one thought a small film called 'Aamir', directed by debutant Rajkumar Gupta, written by debutant Roy, starring debutant Rajiv Kahdelwal would be so brilliant.
Runner Up: WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR
Director Shyam Benegal was never known for making comedies, but 'Sajjanpur' was surprisingly well made!
16.
Most Disappointing Film of the Year
Winner Loser: MITHYA
Vinay Pathak, Naseeruddin Shah, Saurabh Shukla, Ranvir Shorey in a double role and directed by Rajat Kapoor... we were pretty pumped to watch this film. The joy crashed and burned half an hour into the movie. An overweight, unattractive, irritating Neha Dhupia didn't help matters.
- Runner Up: TASHAN
Stellar star cast, popular songs, flashy promos and rumors of bikinis were enough to build the excitement. Sadly this piece of junk turned out to be carnal sin in the name of cinema.
