What is the importance of Choti Bahu?

We've seen that the Purohit family is eagerly awaiting their choti bahu. This week Mrinalini even posed the question whether choti bahu will perform some miracle when she comes. So lets discuss why the Purohit family is giving so much importance to the choti bahu.

What are the expectations from Choti Bahu? Is it only that they want an heir for their family? I think it's mostly because they want an heir...and we've all gotten a glimpse at Mrinalini, so it might be that they just want a more dutiful bahu than her 😛...

Is the family being unfair to the Mrinalini? Whats your opinion on her frustration. I think Mrinalini's frustation is justified, but her general anger is not. It must be hard having a handicapped husband, and having everyone else in the family eagerly awaiting a person that isn't even in their house yet, which is unfair...but it doesn't mean you have to go all evil and yell at your husband. Its not his fault 😒

Is Radhika the right choice to be their choti bahu or will Vishakha fulfill the role better? Definitely Radhika...Vishakha is too lost in her own dreams and less 'bahu material' than Radhika...and Dev loves Radhika as well.

What is the reason for hurrying the wedding? Hmm...will get back on this one.

Why be specific in choosing a girl from a small town like Vrindavan? Hmmmm...well you never know about big city girls I guess 😛

• It might be that they just want an heir and i think Purohitji is ill and might be facing death so he wants to maybe see an heir before he hits the bucket. And Mrinu is far from their idea of an ideal bahu so that just might be it. Though i don't understand why they have to make it seem like a mystery and why Mrinu is not aware that this is the reason for the importance given to Choti Bahu. Though she seems to think that its her inability to have kids and that the next bahu will give them kids, but then it does seem odd that they make such a huge deal out of it.

• THough i feel terrible for Vivek, i think Mrinu is justified. Its not her fault that Vivek was disabled and can't have kids. But Purohit family makes it seem like its her fault. Now either there is some reason that is not yet disclosed for why they are so biased to Mrinu.. it can't be just that she has a bad attitude towards them.. they seem to forgive her attitude, possibly because they also understand her frustrations. But i have a feeling there is more to Vivek and Mrinu's story than what we now. If Mrinu is that frustrated why is she still with Vivek. She can easily get a divorce from him and doesn't have to suffer with a disabled husband. I find it pretty disgusting that she is flirting with the other men in the house (wiht DEV???? ewwwww). Though its understandable but then she should leave Vivek and get married to someone else na? Why cheat on him.

• I don't know. Radhika might be their ideal bahu type but her sacrificing quality will only land her in trouble when she has to deal with the big bad world of high-society people like Mrinu and Susheel chachu. Vish though has her own funda on life she can fight her battles. I find Vish's annoyance at Dev's bak bak very amusing. The fact that she has absolutely no interest in Dev makes me like her even more. i know its strange But i feel like she will not come in between Dev and Radhika on an emotional level.

• That question gets me. I can understand they want a choti bahu to bring them the happiness they dont' have. But why hurry the wedding so much? Everything happening within 10 days?? Thats why i am thinking there has to be more to the importance given to choti bahu than just wanting an heir. But what could it be?

• Well that might be because they feel they made a mistake by choosing Mrinu for Vivek and a small town girl growing up in Vrindavan will be more pious and cultured than Mrinu dear. And this I also have to agree with.
  

Radhika is the perfect CB material. She is kind, caring, respectful and I think she is the right choice.

First is expectation is Warris for family. After vivek disable Mrinali can't give warris. Mrinali also don't fit for the family which Dev mom's & Dadi have quality.

Radhika is right choice, what they look for Bahu. How she work in the house & bardasht grrany😡. Vishakha don't want to marry & have child or waste her time in household. She has a dream to become popular celebrity. If she can cheat her parent then she cheats any body. Vishakha only fulfill her duty how to defent Mrinali.

Dev's mom & Dadi are from vrindavan. They already know big city girl can't fit in their house. Culture different.

And Payal i hope we discuss more every week too. You are free to open discussion topics too. As long as the forum is kept active and members participate, anyone can open the discussions. I put gursharan's "Sindoor Bin Suhagan" as our first DOTW because we had the most participation there and some good predictions too.
ok i feel something to discuss i will open topic..
Since we agree on most things, lets c..anyone disagree or not.

Radhika may have the ideal qualities that Purohit family is looking for and moreover Dev is in love with her. But will she fit into the family atmosphere in Dev' s house.. she will obviously face a lot, firstly because there will be issues with her marriage to Dev. His family is expecting Vishakha and most likely Rads will end up in the mandap. Will Dev's family accept Rads??? Will they consider themselves cheated.
Vish though is not happy with marriage and her ambition is to become a heroine, what if she goes for the auditions and realizes that Purab cheated her and comes back to the wedding ceremony ready to marry Dev? But likely the marriage will be over by then, should Radhika then step aside and let Vish be Dev's wife.
