Himesh Reshammiya's hit soundtrack Aashiq Banaya Aapne has two lifts in it also:
Dillagi, which is taken straight from Pakistani pop singer Ali Zafar's "Rangeen," from his 2003 album "Huqa Pani." Marjaawan is a blatant lift from Fakhir's "Marjaawan" from his 2002 album "Aatish."
  1. Oh yeah, Gela Gela (Aitraaz) was copied note for note from R. Kelly's Thoia Thoing from his 2003 album "Chocolate Factory."

HR is popular for lifting songs?????i heard of him copying but not this much....and ppl r thinking tht he is the best singer, music director....!!!!!

i just hope that vinit doesn't get affected by this.

the above info obtained from the above link....the second one has more info.

Tht was terribly a indecent and cheap act by Sofiasohot.

Iam sure the moderators would interfere and take care of this. I urge people to think before they write as this a decent forum and no place for such people.

Yes he is the smartest plagarizer ever to have come, I listen to lot of Pakistani music and can tell that atleast 3 out of 6 songs in every movie of him is a copy.
He rips more than 2 songs of different origin to make one song and that's how he gets away.
😉 clever man....... 😉

HR has himself said that he lifts from other songs in one of the episodes. It was I think the one in which Sanjay Leela Bhansali came.

Many music directors do that these days. If not from hindi melody's then English songs. They copy the beats many times.

Also we have to remember one thing. When a song is based on a particular raag then many times it'll have look similar. Similarly the sufi songs will have lot in common. We have to keep that in mind too.

Does any one think HR's songs are raag based.....??Sorry thumbs down. Sangeet me 7 sur hote hai aur Komal mila kar 13, when they clash song will sound similar. Songs which are raaga based have a different smell, no one needs a musical ear to find that.
HR is doing exactly what Bappi da did in 80s and killed RD Burman's music. Anu Malik did exactly same in 90s and survived along with JL.
Plagiarism is a phenomenon which started in 80s with arrival of Bappida.
This has got social acceptance now .If any of you are good at remixing, sound mixing & know some gadgets it is right time to become music director........ 😉

HR has said point blank that he is inspired by LP- esp. Tere Naam.

I have read that Mar Jawan & Aap ki kashish have been inspired by pakistani band Jal's music.

But...Anu Malik is the biggest copycat...i think😳

This made me thk - i was surprised to find ragas in many Anu malik compositions. Eg: Refugee - mere humsafar mere paas aa- Kalyan.

Ismail darbar does have rages ofcourse - Albela sajan aayo re- Ahir Bhairav. For those interested, to identify ragas sing along albela sajan aayo re and Raam teri ganga maili ho gayi( both based on same raga) you will be able to pick up the other song from the other ones sur..

Try singing " In aankhon ki masti ke, Dil hun hun kare, Dekha ek khwab" together, it wl be easy to increase the tempo and pick up the other song.( Bhoopali).

I find a lot of ragas in JL too, melody moghuls as they r. Bahon ke dharmiyan takes me to a different plane altogether.( Raag Darbari).

Iam not aware if anyone else is interested in this topic so am cutting it short here, but wld love to write more on it if there are other guys who love raagas in songs.

Go on Vidya, there are many people interested like me.
Anu Malik's songs have some raaga flavour because of his father Sardar Malik, who was a classical singer, though AM himself was never trained.
ID is highly classical, just like Salil da of yesterday, his songs are difficult that's why they fail to connect with masses, but are everlasting
(In my opinion).
Many thanks for sharing.

Yo man, I'm from North East and have worked with some small bands, it's a shame our composers lift tunes from Pak & Bangladesh, do you know title song of Murder is actually baby of a rock band from Dhaka, now they are struggling for livelihood while this man Anu Malik who has lots of money doesn't even mention that this song was a lift. 😡
hey guys don't support such musicians,.........they take bread away from our mouth.
