hello everybody,

while the king was watching 2day's epi a thought occured 2 the chosen one n hence he wanted 2 share it wid ya'll. this drama is supposed 2 take place in 1940's which means at tht time the society was still very-much male-dominated. wid the husbands being seen as pati parameshwar. now if u c all the other dramas which air contemporary storylines. theer the female lead acts as the torch bearer of traditions n rituals. gives pages of lectures on mangalsutra, marrriage etc. if those characters wud have written thesis on tht subject each of them wud have got doctorates.

now coming back 2 our topic. in 2day's epi kranthi without a bit of hesitation removed her mangalsutra. while her character shud b sub-dued n orthodox considering the time-frams n our tulsi's n parvati's shud b more modern. but here is a strange role-reversal wid kranthi actig like a 20th century wife n the other like 1940's grandmothers.

i feel king that atleast fro this show the reserch done is not adequate...even the dresses kranti wear her attitude is kinda not 1942...her freedom fighter spirit indeed is only thing taht i find appropriate but in certain aspects she is way beyond 1942 ....about rest of saas bahu shows i cant comemnt as i never see them😕..but kranti s portrayal is kind anot very appropriate even her interaction with dhaba wala etc in those days it was not this way women were very conservative its era 60 years ago na....hope creatives give attention to gross errors like name of dhaba wa swritten in hindi...u wont find any dhaba name in hindi even in present day punjab urdu was language of those times atleast written language....so they need to follow certain things in proper way....

hi i dont think period of time has that much of importance in determining a woman's attitude i mean there were pretty strong and independent women in that era say like indira gandhi who were far more modern in their outlook than a no of indian women of this era. its just that that the society's attitude towards them has changed earlier people would point fingers at them now ppl r more cool abt it. inanycase all these crappy saas bahu serials propagate such wrong values i dont think any sensible educated woman behaves like these doormatish characters. kranti is a kk and an educted woman so there is nothing wrong wid her behaviour plus her marriage is not a normal marriage n she is only doing this in her room its not that she is throwing her mangal sutra in front of 100 ppl.

actually king i really agree wid you .
especially in case of dressing sense.
the clothes are quite fashionable.
the embroidaries, the stuff, normally the net dupattaetc.
are something very mordern.
actually in starting krantii used to wear cotton stuff which looks appropriate acoording to the story.
krantii looks beautiful in the simple outfit.
but lets see. what creatives do after such a useful thread .

Sami, I wouldn't know the details, but I also feel that some more research is needed. That will make the serial more authentic.

And the prod. values should improve further. Day before yesterday, I noticed that Raj was driving the car on the same stretch of road for two different occasions - between coming of one dhaba and the next, when he was irritated.

@ Bhawna, Purvi - I agree with both of you regarding the dress patterns and style.

I agree with u King...it really amazes me when Tulsis and Parvatis of 21st Century wear huge Mangalsutras and their Sindoor-Rekha touches till the forehead😆..whereas a girl belonging to the era of 1942 does not even think twice before taking out her Magalsutra😲😆..Even the way she speaks with her husband makes her look like an ultra modern woman who gives a damn to marriages and social bondages😕
Sam as far as the research is concerned I agree that women in those times were more subdued and conservative but here Kranti is just not any other woman of those times..she is basically a Krantikari whose only motto is to fight for freedom and for this she can even sacrifice her family and Suhaag...and even in those times we had women like Annie Besant who were much more modern in their thinking like Kranti..Even though Annie was an Irish girl but she fought for India's freedom like a true Krantikari and I feel Kranti's character is written on those lines...She is also educated and this makes her thinking much more modern and ahead of those times😳..
Yes I agree with the kind of designer clothes which Kranti is wearing right now considering the era is 1942😆😕...but again u hv to take these liberties in a daily soap to get the trps coming😉..mayb the creatives feel Kranti looks more attractive in these clothes and so to attract the audience she should take few liberties😉..
Now as far as the Freedom Movement is concerned I don't think Creatives r much interested in showing the actual freedom struglle or the happenings of the Quit India Movement here..in the beginning they tried to show it but it never worked in terms of trps and so now their main motto is RK love story under the backdrop of freedom struggle😳..and see its worikng MRD is back in top 20 trps😉😆..
