Small Ichhki's Big Plans
It has been just 23 days since she made her appearance on television and Uttaran's Ichhki has already grabbed everyone's attention. Sparsh Khanchandani plays Ichcha in Uttaran is giving a tough competition to Anandi of Balika.
Reel life Ichhki is very close to her on screen friend Tapasya played by Ishita and the two have a gala time on the sets together.
"During the breaks, Sparsh is often seen doing masti with her on screen friends Tapasya, Taklu and Baju," says her mom. Similar to the on screen equation which Ichha shares with her mom, the eight year old is very attached to her real mumma too.
Considering the recent furor about child artists being made to work very long hours and not having a proper childhood, Sparsh's mother says that they are very strict about ensuring that she has a proper upbringing.
"Sparsh goes to school regularly in the morning from 7:30am-1:00pm. It's only in the evening she has to go for her shoot and then Saturdays and Sundays are off for her. On the way from home to the sets, she sleeps in the car," informs her mother.
Sparsh has not taken any acting classes but still she doesn't face any problems with her scenes and dialogues.
"There are times when she tells the directorji too that iss line ko main aise bolu toh aur achcha lagega na. It really amazes me!" exclaims mother Sarita.
Sparsh has always been an all rounder as used to actively participate in all extra curricular activities at school. "She used to participate in poem recitations, story telling and various other activities and in academics too, she has always been a topper," says a proud mother.
Sparsh resides in Ulhasnagar and goes to school in Ambernath. The set of Uttaran is in Vikhroli and it's her mom who escorts her everyday from home to school and then later to the sets.
"One of my friends told me about this, Sparsh gave the auditions and with in 2 days we got the news that she is selected," says Sparsh's mother when asked about how her daughter got the role.
This is how ever not her first show. Sparsh Khanchandani was seen in a very small role in a Sahara One daily Mera Sasural and was also seen in a movie called Red Alert where she played the daughter of Sunil Shetty and Bhagyashree.

"Sparsh is a God gifted child," mom Sarita says, "She is very active and is always very curious to know about things as her character in the show. Ichcha in real life too is very inquisitive and talkative."
