Life is not a bed of roses if you are born with some Autism spectrum disorder. It goes to the credit of Debojit's parents for their upbringing that he would walk on the stage with utmost confidence and would mesmerises the Janta with his soulful singing. You can see the passion in his singing. He is completely into it and no wonder he gets the most standing ovations. As some body puts it, it is an experience to listen to his singing. There has been some drawbacks including lisps which may be a part of the disorder he is suffering from. The mentors could not find many mistakes apart from few lisps. Preetam kept his word and he has 3 songs to his credit. His parents, especially his mother deserves all the applause for what debojit is today. Debojit is passionate about his singing and this can single handidly takes him to places. I think he will inspire many other phenomenons in the years to come.

Wonderful post, being a special ed. teacher I agree with you. Every parents should learn from the parents who never gave up on their children. In my family I have seen a girl born with nerve deafness in India, finishing her college majoring in physics, chemistry, and math. Not only that mother sent her for Kathak dance lessons, which was not easy. The only reason she achieved inspite of her handicap was her mother's sacrifice. So hats off to Debojit and his parents and all the parents of the world who never give up on their children.

Well, you are welcome. I think you deserve thanks for making a post that is positive towards Debojit. I saw too many posts insulting his deficiencies, his lisps, his inability to use his common sense. I am not writing this because I am his fan. It's not every one on this forum being insensitive towards another human being's disability. I am just appalled to see few people 's reaction.

True..

Also, I think he is an only child so they can lavish all their attention on him, not every parent has so much time and money to do this.

If you are poor and have other children either your other children suffer because one takes so much attention or child with problem suffers. This is an unusual case..Deob is lucky that he has sole attention of both of his parents and a Bengali mentor has given him a great break not all children born with problems are so lucky.
