So I think this fourth season of Indian Idol has way too much drama than the other years. And even if their were any arguments or drama in the past, they didn't seem to bring it up so often on the show & discuss about it. So why are they doing it this year? For TRPs? For instance, the whole quarel between Tulika and Priyanka, but that should be over now because Tulika got eliminated. Unless Mohit and Priyanka get into a fight or something. I was quite happy when they were argueing about the Shini-Bhanu case and then Anu Malik said to end the chapter and focus on the singing and such. I feel like this kind of stuff doesn't happen in other reality shows. What do you guys think?

I agree its way too much drama and it's getting really irritating. Except it does happen in all reality shows and this year its just too much on every channel.

I hope they cut the crap and get to singing, this drama is becoming a factor for voting and the singing is forgotten.

Except for season 1 Indian Idol always had some drama. So nothing new though I wish they also sing once a while.

Bhanu- Shini drama was totally unwarranted....
even if they were fighting the discussion of the aptness of footwear as a weapon against decent married women on National prime time TV is uncalled for!

^Yeah, I totally agree that was seriously unnecessry. But who really knows if he said it or not. Because there was such a mix review.

The point is not if he said it or not. Nothing was shown to prove that he had said It was also denied by others. But we definitely saw Shini making ugly remarks on Bhanu's looks.

But are we watching Indian Idol for singing performances or these ugly dramas? SONY carries a camera and asks the contestants to make provocative comments. It puts words into their mouth. Then edits it and shows it to us out of context.

SONY wants to convert it, as some forum member put it, to Big Boss or a Saas-Bahu serial?

completely agree - the drama is going way overboard now.

No previous season has seen as much drama as this - probably due to fierce competition among channels.

But this is seriously affecting the votes that contestants get - and that is whats so wrong about all this.

Ananya was my favourite to win and I was so upset with her ouster, but in a way, after the past week, I am glad she didn't succumb to all these pressures to engage in the drama. Good for her.
If Sony is going to tarnish the dignity of her and her very respectable family, the she is better off out of the competition!!
