Salman's last-ditch effort to save YUVVRAAJ
That YUVVRAAJ was too long and slow–paced was evident to all once the film was released on 21st November, and as the saying goes, extreme situations call for extreme measures. That is precisely what the lead actor of YUVVRAAJ Salman Khan did after the unanimous criticism of the film. The actor sat down with the ex–showman and re–edited scenes which he thought were not adding much but were rather slowing down the pace.
However, the damage was irrevocable and as a result of a bad wom (word – of – mouth) the film had already suffered heavily and will unfortunately turn out to be losing proposition for all concerned.
It must be pointed out that Subhash Ghai too was worried about the length of his musical extravaganza and that is why he had hired the services of Deepa Bhatia as the editor instead of doing the job himself, as is the norm with most Ghai films.
While on Deepa Bhatia, she had done a splendid job in Aamir Khan's TAARE ZAMEEN PAR. But even she could not do much for YUVVRAAJ as the film was essentially a slow–paced archaic family drama.
