Hi Friends,
This is Aimee. I am in Delhi, India. Its around 4:00am in the night and i still cant sleep. I havnt slept the whole night as have been following the news of Terrorist Attack in Mumbai ever since the news started around 9:45pm last night. I tried and tried, but couldnt help it but get extremely restless. I can see how hard everyone is trying to help each other and rescue the innocents. Police, NSG, Armed forces, Naval squads, Marine Commandos, ATS, Commandos, all type of agencies are trying their best to capture those terrorists. I feel like, i should run over to Mumbai immediately and do something. I know it sounds insane, but i cant help it. I was feeling so helpless and uneasy and wanted to share this with someone. So i posted this topic here.
2 places are bombed. There has been around 9 places where terrorists attacked. They have been firing and killing around innocent people.
Almost 170 people have already died and over 400 are told to be injured. The terrorists havent left any place, they attacked Train station, 7 star Hotels, Hospitals, Streets, Theatre, some buildings and dont know what all places.
I know FF is not a forum to discuss such things and i dont intend anyone to discuss this issue here. I just want all my friends here to join me in the prayer.
A prayer those who are still trapped by the disguting terrorists, those who are there to rescue them, those who got injured and those who lost thier lives. Please pray to god to help the people who are still hostaged to have courage to face it and to support those who are there for their rescue.
Please join hands together to ask for God's mercy for innocents lives.
Please pay Tribute to our Brave Soldiers and Condolences to those who lost their souls.
For those who arent aware of what happened in Mumbai, here is the list of major events since 26th November 2008.
26th November 2008 -
9:15PM - A group of Militants attacked people munching on their dinner at Leopold Caf in South Mumbai. Leopold Cafe is almost 135+ years old cafe which is quite a popular spot for foreign visitors. The Militants blindly fired on the people and ran away. Police thought it was just a small Gangwar, but within minutes they got another similar news of shot-fire at another place.
9:20PM - Some Israeli citizens were kept hostage in Nariman House. Nariman House was also the place from where all the planning of this Terrorist attack was done. The terrorist are said to be living in disguise at Nariman House for last over 6 months.
9:24PM - Some hand grenades were thrown as well as blind firing done on innocent people at CST (Chatrapati Shivaji Terminal ' One of the world's busiest Train Station). CST is around 110 years old which was earlier known as VT Station (Victoria Terminal).
9:30PM - Terrorists attacked in one of the restaurants of Taj Hotel killing around people and hostaging people and Hotel Staff. Taj Hotel is almost 105 years old.
9:35PM - The Terorists attacked Hotel Oberoi, once again firing blindly killing people hostaging guests and staff of the hotel.
10:15PM - Shot-fire outside Cama and Albless Hospital for Women and Children. The hospital is around 122 years old.
10:30PM - Outside Metro Cinema. Again people were shot at. The Cinema is around 70 years old.
10:45PM - Firing at Wadi Bunder. The taxi got blown away by a time bomb when on its way towards its destination. The bomb in it was supposed to blow once it reached Airport.
10:50PM - Firing at Girgaum Chaupati, one of the most favorite hangout spot for locals.
27th November 2008
All through night time Rescue operations were being initialized. Mumbai Police Force, ATS, Naval Commandos, NSG and other forces were called for help.
3:05AM - One of the Taj Hotel corridor put on fire.
7:30AM - NSG commandoes entered Taj to evacuate people.
3.11 pm - A section of Taj hotel catches fire again.
6.45 pm - Large contingent of the RAF comes out of the New Taj building, two explosions heard in the Oberoi.
10.20 pm - Major fire breaks out at the Taj.
28th November 2008
6.40 am - More NSG, Army commandos take positions at Oberoi and Nariman House.
7.05 am - NSG commandoes aboard choppers carry out aerial firing at Nariman House.
7.40 am - One more helicopter drops commandoes on top of Nariman House.
9.00 am - Commandos atop Nariman House.
9.46 am - Smoke emerges from a dome on Taj Hotel.
1.24 pm - At least 148 hostages, majority of them foreigners, rescued from Trident (Oberoi) hotel.
2.00 pm - Operation complete in Oberoi Trident, NSG takes control of situation.
9:05PM - Nariman House conquered. Official Confirmations aired.
29th November 2008
8:15am - Final confirmation of Taj being conquered.
