| Two lead characters, Abhay (Anuj Saxena) and Kumud (Aashka Goradia) were conspicuous by their absence from the Goodbye Kkusum bash, on Wednesday.
Their no-show, however, did not come as a surprise. Both had their reasons to stay away but producer Ekta Kapoor just needs a reason to party.
Her Sony show has made an exit after four years and 1,000 episodes. Reason enough to make merry. The Goodbye Kkusum party was at her Krishna bungalow, in Juhu Scheme.
Those who know Ekta's party-hearty style, know that she makes her presence felt only around midnight, and her parties buzz till the milkman comes home. Missing in action
On his no-show, Anuj says, "I didn't feel like going for the party; I had a lot of other commitments. I am quite busy in the shooting of Kumkum and also in the activities of Elder Pharma, as well as my production house, Maverick."
As for Aashka, her shoot schedules held her back. "I was shooting from 7 am for Piya Ka Ghar, and by the time it was over, something else cropped up," she says. Point taken. Teen deviyaan
Though their devta was missing, the three deviyaas were in attendance. It was a rare sight to see the three Kkusums - Nausheen Ali Sardar, Manasi Joshi Roy and Shilpa Saklani — all sharing space and enjoying the bonhomie.
Manasi came with hubby Rohit Roy (he played Abhay for a short while), while Shilpa was with husband Apoorva Agnihotri. There was also Abhay's other woman, Taashu (Narayani Shastri) to add to his list of women in the drama. Homecoming for Nausheen
It was an overwhelming feeling for Nausheen Ali Sardar, the original Kkusum. "I was very touched after meeting all the people who were part of the unit. I felt a bit low too, that something I was part of now, no longer exists. I was meeting the unit after a long gap. It was great fun catching up with everyone." Hic hic hurray
It is learnt that Chetan Hansraj (Kkusum's Garv) poured four shots of tequila down Ekta's throat. The party-hearty
The list includes Anita Hasanandani (the erstwhile Natasha), Eijaz Khan, Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan, Ronit Roy, Gurpreet Singh, Moonmoon, Urvashi Dholakia, Kiran Karmarkar, Shubha Verma, Vikas Sethi, Rakshanda Khan, Gautami Gadgil, Ram Kapoor, Balaji creative heads Sandiip Sikcand, and Nivedita Basu and Sony boss Tarun Katial. There were no thanksgiving speeches, just naach, gaana and masti.
