Hello folks,
I have time on my hands....so I wanted to respond to responses I got. If you do not like long posts, then you may not want to read. on.
I think you have COMPLETELY twisted my words around and have made some very sanctimonious statements as a result. I'm not sure how exactly you derived some of this thinking, and I'm not going to guess.
For example, you say:
What is wrong with praising Tanya. Tanya fans openly appreciate Tanya because we obviously see things in her that are worth appreciation. The same way we criticize Tanya's bad actions. If Trish fans or even kul or Mr. trivedi fans want to praise them, do so. You are more than welcome to.
Now read my statement in the post that elicited your anger:
And people, please stop the Tanya-love. Praise her. Like her. Stand up for her in the posts. She's a character that is not perfect. Please stop making her otherwise.
Now does that sound like I'm saying you can't stand up for her?
I am telling others to stop making her sound perfect all the time. I TELL YOU IN MY POST: PRAISE HER, LIKE HER, STAND UP FOR HER IN THE POSTS. SHE IS NOT A PERFECT CHARACTER.
So something is amiss, wouldn't you agree? I am not that stupid, although I'm sure many on the forum may argue otherwise, to say you can't say this or that. I've been able to say anything I like, you and everyone should be able to as well.
Other examples: You state in your response to yours truly:
Under so curcumstance did a tanya fan ever claim she is perfect. She is filled with flaws. Flaws make her character. Trish is way closer to perfect than tanya.
MY reason for what I said: Read the posts on this forum for the last couple of months, SO FEW of them even talk about her flaws or criticize her. All I read on this forum is how selfless she is, how she only thinks about her family, how she suffers for everyone around her. And to bring the point home, many say she is selfless, look at Trish-- she is so selfish. Tanya is so caring...it's endless. I dare anyone to tell me I am wrong when I made the statement above.
YOU further respond to my statements:
As for the whole situation I won't scrutinize her because her marriage worked on her favor. I think that was the whole point to begin with. If the marriage didn't benefit her YUVRAJ WOULDN'T HAVE MARRIED HER. You are more than welcome to look at the line" No one will marry me" as Tanya's motive. I am sure she was thinking " OH DARN! I got raped now no hero will come for me I won't get to hold hands with him and run over the green field to happyland" Kanaiyah raped her so no guy will haver her!! Do you not know what that means in the show?? The only way to save her honor was to marry Kanaiyah. TO SAVE THEIR HONOR as her honor was already lost. You really think the girl was going to marry kanaiyah because she was in need of a husband?? She thought "oh well, I guess kanaiyah will work. I can't live a life without husband" She did to save their HONOR!! She was marrying the guy who raped her and gave her nothing but nightmares to save her family's honor. You want to say that's not a selfless deed go ahead. But Tanya fans see it as one.
MY response: Do you think I've been smoking crack? I know about the honor of her family, that is why she went to marry Kanaiya. And I'm guessing that you were being facetious when you said:
You really think the girl was going to marry kanaiyah because she was in need of a husband?? She thought "oh well, I guess kanaiyah will work. I can't live a life without husband" She did to save their HONOR!!
MY response: Again, I think this whole idea about her on the hunt for a husband twist to my statement comes from....oh, I really don't know! I would like to. So marrying Raj protects her family's honor because...she'd be married already? Yuv married her because she "lost her honor". DO YOU GUYS KNOW how stupid all this is??? I'm not talking about honor and losing honor, but this twist. It would be laughable, if is wasn't sad too.
YOU STATE IN YOUR RESPONSE:
The 1st time Tanya tried to kill herself she said " why should my family suffer because of me". You really want to tell me the girl stayed quiet and watched her sister suffere because deep inside she wished to be happy with Raj (her sister's love). The same girl who had nightmares about her rape on the same night?? I can't believe even for second she thought of herself during the marriage.
MY RESPONSE: Where in my post do I say this? I say that she has thought of her family first, and to some degree herself. Is that such an awful thing or impossible of Tanya thing? You mentioned about her watching her sister suffer--I say you should have opened her damn mouth if you are so sad about the pain your sister and Yuv (to some degree) are feeling, and the choices that are being "forced" upon them by the situation (noone's fault): marry Tanya vs. not marry, leave Trish or not, marry Rajdeep or be alone. Everyone made their decisions voluntarily--so be it. BUT I WILL LAY IT OUT SIMPLISTICALLY PERHAPS but here goes: Yes, you tell me why Tanya married Yuv (save her family's honor). She knows that if she allows the marriage with her sister's fiance, then she will devastate her sister, and hence hurt her family then too. I completely believe that what Tanya did by allowing Yuv to marry her was wrong. I also believe that her not telling her sister the truth earlier was wrong. IT JUST IS WRONG IN A FAMILY.
I mentioned in my post: JUDGE ACTIONS, JUST NOT BY THE INTENTIONS, BUT THE EXPECTED RESULTS. Tanya did something very wrong--marrying Yuv. IT WAS A WRONG ACTION AND IT WAS WRONG OF YUV TOO. I do not care if she was raped...
That is what I said. I stick with this statement of mine. I will not think along the lines of relativism in a family--make judgment calls about who needs it more, who went through what. It's just wrong, period.
I told you I had some time on my hands. 😛
