Cute scene where Anandi makes a cartoon pictue of Jagdish. Sugna laughs and an annoyed Jagdish tells Anandi that he will draw a similar picture of her; only with a longer mosutache. Anandi shrieks as Jagdish chases her around the room.
TV Room…
Anandi tries to get the Tv to turn on but can't work out how. Dadisa spots her and asks what she is doing. Anandi becomes jumpy and tries to leave quietly but Dadisa stops her and talks to her lovingly, saying that she can watch Tv whenever she has finished her work. She sits the nervous Anandi down and shows her how to switch on the Tv. Anandi warms to her and they both happily sit and watch 'Jai Shri Krishna'.
Later…
Sugna and Jagdish are playing with kites on the roof. Sugna excitedly calls out to Anandi and even Sumitra tells Anandi to go and play. Anandi however refuses and says that she has a lot of work to do and only after that will she go and play. Anandi takes tea to Dadisa and tells her to drink it quickly. Dadisa, who is counting money, gives her a distracted reply but Anandi sits down and scolds her, saying that even last night she had not finished her milk.
Anandi talks to nineteen to dozen and tells Dadisa that Sumitra will make a dish for her today; but she [Anandi] will cook the rest. Anandi excitedly asks Dadisa if she will eat the food even if it doesn't come out well. Dadisa says she will and sends her of.
Village…
Bhagwathi is with Kakisa and expresses her concern over Anandi, saying that she hasn't received a single letter since they dropped Anandi of. Kakisa consoles her and says that those who give birth to daughters must go through this. Khajan returns and tells Bhago that Bhairav has sent a letter. Kakisa and Bhago hurriedly rush to him and listen eagerly as Khajan reads out that Anandi is well and is looking after the house. He adds that she also helps Jagdish with his school work.
Bhago and Kakisa are stunned at that idea but Khajan explains that they are from a more affluent family and have different ways of thinking. He goes on to read that by staying with Sugna, Anandi has learnt to dress herself up and looks very beautiful nowadays. Bhago is happy to hear this.
Haveli…
Anandi puts some ribbons in to her hair [given to Sugna by Prathap] and admires them. Sugna also says that Anandi looks pretty and Anandi asks Sugna for another set of ribbons to give to her friend Phooli. Just then Jagdish yells for her and Anandi is annoyed.
She goes to his room where Jagdish tells her to do his homework but Anandi refuses saying that she will only do it if he talks to her nicely. Jagdish gives in and asks her nicely, whilst at the same time saying that the ribbons look good on her. Anandi agrees to do his work as Jagdish leaves to play.
Dadisa's room…
Dadisa removes sets from her jewellery box and hans them to Sumita to be sent to be polished as Anandi and Sugna admire the necklaces. Anandi asks a dozen questions and Dadisa softens as she picks up an old necklace, given to her by her mother. Sumitra becomes nervous as Dadisa looks frustrated at Anandi's questions and tells Anandi to leave but Anandi throws her arms around Dadisa and exclaims that Dadisa can never get angry at her as she is very sweet,
Sumitra looks tensed but is surprised when Dadisa tells Anandi not to butter her up and observes the new relationship Dadisa and Anandi share.
Later…
Bauli [marriage fixer] is being scolded by Dadisa for bringing them a girl who is a widow. Bauli tries to explain that the girl was only married for a week before her husband died; and was to young to even remember it but Dadisa is firm that Prasand will only marry a girl who is unmarried.
Bauli looks troubled and tries to say that it's hard finding a match for Prasand due to his age but Dadisa bristles and warns Bauli not to blame her ineptness on Prasand. She tells Bauli that she has set aside a gold necklace for her if she finds the right beendh for Prasand.
Bauli is happy to hear this and after accepting some money from Dadisa, promises to be back soon with new alliances.
