There is certain something missing.. it sounds like he doesn't know/care what the words mean...

When Mussarat sang, he engrossed you.. when the sufi singers in a rival show sing NFAK compositions, they take you to a trance.. that's what NFAK's songs do... Shashi just doesn't evoke the same emotions in me sry2say..

heck even Tarun's renditions of NFAK songs are way better and has a soul, so what if he missed a sur here and there (but to a normal listener like me, i hardly even notice it)..

Mussarrat has messed up a few songs as well if you are talking of ESBE, regards Tarun and othes unless some one is strictly in sur I find it hard t o evaluate, here sur rules and I will support the one who is technically good. For that matter once Asha ji evaluated Lata's taan in SJ's ong (talking way back) and told they come back like water fall traversing exactly the same path, that is the kind of perfection I want to see in contestants. Actually there are a few songs of Lata ji where seemingly she focused on technicality so much that feel was slightly missing, but I really love them, for me a rendition is worth evaluation only after it is technically correct.

Exactly. anyone can put soul, it is the technciality which are missing in so many singers esp. in saregama. those who combined it like aneek,raja came o top 2 positions last year. ammnat and musharrat were the 2 most over-rated singersd in any reality show, and no wonder neither of them won. Raja, aneek and Poonam were the best in challenge 007 and will alwyas be.

as for challenge 2009 shahsi is leagues ahead esp of mediocre singers like sunvinder, aasma, tarun and what not. and beleive me, his being eliminated once as people like to rub it in has nothing to do wuth his talnet. It is all vote-politics as zee knows he comes from a palce where people can't afford to vote much. in earlier saregama where thee was no voting, he and pratibha would have bene in finals SURE SHOT.

OMG Amanat and over rated 😲 Gott to be kidding me 😕

Amanat Ali One singer who did not get his proper dues during C-07 IMHO.

I agree with MrsAckles that Mussarat was more soulful in sufi singing. He might not be technically correct but i would love to hear him sing again and again...
